Consumer Reports M235i second best to tesla
COnsumer reports ranked the 2015 BMW 235i the second best car!
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2...ests/index.htm Knew I made the right choice, wonder if BMW will get behind it. Frankly I don't care becasue so far I love my 2015 M235i Alpine White Convertible! Still have seen no other 235's on the road in Houston... |

Not many 2 series out there period. I think I've only seen one, a EB near Willowbrook. At my school, there's a black M235i with diffuser I think and a racing strip.

On Hardy toll road every day from the woodlands to 610...
I missed the boat on getting the rear spoiler on at the dealer... Looking for something as it is just missing something there... "Not enough Junk ON the trunk" Might go to the bmw cca coffee meet on the 7th. Not much top down yet, soon though.... |

C'mon now, these are same folks that tell me what pizza tastes best and which vacuum picks up the most dog hair. These people have skills!

Objectivity and commercialism is the key with CR. I know how fun the car is to drive, and how it feels... Their recommendation confirmed my thoughts on the balance of the car between fun/economy/comfort. To get that high a score, meant something to me at least.

I don't agree with their results all the time either. They clearly don't get the appeal of a Wrangler, rating it as low as they do. But, Wranglers are well-loved world-wide...CR has trouble understanding why. The reliability data is more useful, as the owner body sample may be more likely to complain of defects than the average buyer. |

Regardless of personal opinions about CR, their recommendations of likes and dislikes on products especially cars carry some weight. CR has proven to be critical when rating cars. For CR to have such high praise for the M235i says a lot...

At a certain point value and cost collide. The 235 is very close to that sweet spot in which any more power or suspension upgrades would be less noticeable on the streets and any more luxury is overkill for some. In other words the cayman is not 2x as nice as the 235, but I would say its much nicer, which supports the idea that the 235 is a better value. Likewise a ferrari 458 is not 5x nicer than a cayman, but it is much nicer. Essentially at a certain point you start to get less and less for your dollar, which happens to occur as soon as you go above the 235 in price and performance. This is why it performs so well in these type of reviews. Great Value
