2015 M235i having fun in the snow this morning
Who says RWD can't handle the deep snow :-)
This was fresh from this morning after we had some snow in North East. ... here is the first video of the car testing the snow this morning: Thanks to GOLFFRR I now know how to embed the vids: Last edited by 2015M235i; 01-29-2015 at 08:37 PM.. |

Tire/Wheel package for the winter months (great deal on TRack): 255/45R-17 Yokohama iceGuard iG52c on 17x7.5 Monte Titano MT4 rims. Quite spongy and noisy; however work great in the snow and ice. Look forward to getting the OEM wheels back on when the weather gets warmer. Thanks for watching! |

Few details: Limited slip diff (which I really like on this car - and clearly hard at work in the video). Also 6 Speed manual - perfect in my opinion. |

The car was custom ordered from the factory. The wait wasn't too bad and worth it to get the exact spec I wanted. The LSD (despite the high cost) really makes the car!!

Epic! That was fun watching, and I'm sure even more fun doing...
I've been doing similar stuff in my Mini the past two days in CT. Even with FWD, the rear end will swing right out with the right amount of throttle. Snow is a great learning tool, but make sure to power wash the salt off at the first opportunity! Which driving mode were you in?

I bet the Mini was a lot of fun also, especially when tapping on the handbrake to get the rear end out. I find snow is a great way to experience the limits of car control with minimal wear and tear - and higher safety due to the relatively slow speeds. Next, I like the wet after some rain. Finally the tire destroying dry conditions - ideally just before you are planning to change the tires anyway. Mode: Sport + and holding traction control button down for 10 seconds or so to fully switch off the electronic helpers. Yep, the salt is the big downside of this time of year.
