Bmw headlights
I have a fault headlight vertical control failure
I want to know can this be purchased aftermarket or does the part have to purchased from bmw Any help appreciated |

It may not be the headlight, but the front or rear level sensor on the lower suspension arm. Often these are broken when suspension work is done without detaching them first, or the wiring could have been damaged by road debris. You don't have to buy direct from a BMW dealer, but it is unlikely there is an aftermarket part available. Just find the part number in realoem.com and Google for it to find an appropriate supplier.

Are these Xenons with High-beam Assist and Adaptive? If so, then as mentioned, the whole assembly is quite complex and the fault may just be in a minor component. I ask because I had a simlar fault in my previous 3 Series Xenon-HBA-Assist lights and it turned out to be trivial to repair - just a small sheared screw. So it might be worth taking it to a dealer to see what they estimate the repair cost would be, if you haven't done so already.
