Depreciation on a M235i

hey!

I've been driving a 2014 M235i for 4 years and have 27500 miles on it. The car is in perfect condition, fully loaded. I use it mostly on weekends and did 4500 miles last year.

I decided to put my car on sell because I ordered a Tesla Model 3. I should get my invitation to configure in the next 2-3 weeks.

The KBB private value of my M235i is between 30K and 32K. In the last few weeks, I got contacted by a handful of people (mostly low ballers) but I just got a serious offer for $30750.

But now I'm debating if I should sell my car and order the Model 3 or just keep the BMW for another 2 years.

To decide I'm trying to look at the cash flow of both options. Any idea of the additional depreciation should I expect on my M235i in 2 years and 10'000 more miles?

Thanks for the link, I asked my question over there. Actually I'm happy with the value of my car. Bought it in April 2014 for $52K and now I have an offer for 58% of MSRP.

Take it! It's not going to get better than that. I have a 2016 with 19k miles and I paid $52,600 and the best they offered me was $28k on a trade in. So that's a steal.

I have a 6 Speed also, so that might affect it.

I'm happy about my current offer but wondering if I should keep the car for two more years or just sell it and get the Model 3.

What might be the value of my car in 2 years? 22k maybe?

Keep the 235.
This ^. I can't see getting rid of an M235i to buy a model 3...a model S maybe but not a 3.

But you're averaging < 7K miles per year. Not spectacular value based on cost per mile. I'd keep it.

If you only average <7k miles a year you're giving up build quality and performance while also losing money that you won't recoup with that mileage. Stick with the M235i until Tesla irons out its production kinks.
