Drove M235 & Its Factory Exhaust

Finally our local got the M235 demo in and got my drive done. Ordered the M2 couple weeks ago--so its a done deal, thus the drive was icing.

Everything was as it should be; the naysayers on here are just jealous--it's a beast in silk cloth for sure.

Loved it, but, but the factory exhaust, enhanced as it is, will have to be changed. No flames...as I am not negative, and am one of the old guys on here, but it needs more growl to match what it is. One of the first mods this spring will be the upgrade.

Agreed. It's like my mom always calling her Z4 "The Z." Just not accurate.

I hear ya. When I hear "Z" I always think Nissan 350/370Z, not Z3/4/8.

I agree - makes for confusion in that there is to be an M2 in the future.

Same, though I think of Datsun 240Z.

I just shortened it...I know better. Am just not quite the "purist" in such things--just a typo shorthand---but will surely watch my speech, writing and all the etcssss in the future. And no, there is no "M2" available for any doubters.

I also have a Z4, [hence zkeeper] and its shortened around to the "Z"--and there is definitely no confusion in our group with the Z4 and a Nissan. LOL

Drove it today and had the same impression. That being said I'm getting ready to pull my m4 order and go this route instead.

I drove one this past Wed and was thoroughly impressed. It looked so much better outside and in EBII guise compared to MR one I saw inside at the Philly Auto Show. However, I agree with the OP that it sounded good, but I would need to add the MPE.

BTW, I was at the dealer placing a deposit for an M4. I'm number 2 in line, but until the rates come out, I'm still interested in possibly buying an M235i...

Test drove the M235i as well yesterday...Really like the car and agreed the exhaust is too tame. Coming from the BMW PE on my 135i the exhaust on the M235i is quite a bit quieter...than the PE. I also thought the M235i was a great car and drove very nice and i as well signed up for the M2...unless BMW comes out with a special 2 year lease on the M235i..that would be perfect timing but i highly doubt that will happen so i will wait and drive my sons 135i around when i need some fun.. The M2 is going to be amazing.
On another note being a 6M/T driver i found the 8Speed auto in the m235i very nice. but still not for me..When i asked the dealer when they will be getting in a 6M/T so i could test drive that the salesman who orders said" none are on order...who drives those anyway anymore "" Again i gave him my story on WHY....he understood and is ordering a 6M/T for the dealership..LOL
