I have a 2016 228ix and I really like it so far. My only wish is that it had a better sounding exhaust. I had a supersprint exhaust on my S2000 and loved it. I don't want a loud exhaust with all of the pops, etc just a little better purr. I looked on Tuner Motorsport and found a supersprint that would fit my 228. They claim a more refined sound similar to the one I had on my S2000. They are not cheap but since I have had experience with them I was thinking of ordering one. What are your thoughts.

Have you considered the Mperf exhaust? I cant speak on the supersprint and I have a 235i but Id imagine an mperf with your stock downpipe would give a nice tone without the pops. Good luck on which ever you go with!

Good advice. Will a Mperf exhaust fit on a 228ix. I do know the SS sounded great on my S2000 so I am a little partial to it. I got some good feedback at Turner from Ben so I am leaning in that direction. Thanks.

So I busted my front lip. Pushing the bottom part of the bumper back together was a pain.

Dunno if this is a reason to get another front lip or not. It went back together fine.

So they may make an mperf for the 228i M, but should confirm if it with your dealer. Anycase you can def use an 328i MPE and m235i MPE on your ride. Check it out ----> http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1041864

Quick stop at dad's after going Dinan Stage 2 today. Matt at Thomson was right I should have saved myself the hassle of 2 trips and done it right away!

I've been driving about in the superstorm without getting stuck once, while my hometown is nominated 'snowiest large city in America' (133" so far IIRC). Both home and work are at the top of different hills, so lots of stop-start on icy inclines w/o incident, and Wed night I made it into the driveway despite 12"+ because the plow guy's truck blew a transmission. I'm hoping BMW will come do an X-drive capital of America' promotional or something. They put thorazine in our drinking water or we would all move south for the winter.

I found out that Turner Motorsport also offers a Dinan stainless exhaust for my 228ix as well as the Supersprint. The Dinan claims a more subdued sound like the SS but it costs $250 less and I can get black tips. SS only offers stainless tips which would need to be ceramic powder coated. That would cost about $200. I'm thinking Dinan would be the better choice??

Any performance claims or is this purely for sound?

I saw your post and thought, hey that looks a lot like my car. Thought I had posted it myself until I looked at your name and realized it wasn't me. Weird. Nice car. I got my car from STBMW too and did the tint.

Installed an Active Autowerkes 8 tune. Haven't really had a chance to test it out too much.

Yes, 'the heart of it all' - looking more like inside snow globe. Truthfully, the mountain driving in warmer weather makes up for it. Are you upstate?

Are you in Nevada or California (San Fran?). If Nevada, I'd like to take this to PM, please! Thanks!

That looks outstanding....love the BBS design (for good reason!), and the black works very well.

(Thinking the mirror caps in either black or Estoril can take it further?)
