Remove center console snap in adapter mount

My car has the bottom adapter for the snap in adapter, but I probably will never use it, so how do I remove to open up the center console armrest storage area?

Is there any free space under there?

If I had to guess by looking at it, I'd say there is not much, if any, room there. The rear AC controls/vents would pass right through the area under that tray.

Assuming it's similar to the 335, you push on the "top" part that's marked with an arrow.

That only removes the adapter, not the lower piece the adapter snap into, which blocks the whole rest of the console.

Thought you meant the blank snap-in that you have to remove in order to put a real one in. I'll have to look again to see if the actual mount and connector can be removed.
