Does anyone know how to pull this panel?

I want to pull this lower panel from the centre stack. It's the panel in this pic that has the green sticker on it.

I have an idea for a custom phone mount and would love to look behind that panel.

First, pull out the center air vents assembly, they're only mounted with clips. Disconnect the 2 wiring connectors. This will expose 2 torx screws holding the HVAC control panel in place. Remove those and pull the panel, the bottom of the panel is held in with clips and there is 1 wiring connector on the back you can remove. Finally, that lower panel just pulls off.

There's a lot of room behind that panel. Plenty of space to route a charging cable.

Thanks ... I was hoping I could pop it out using a trim tool but I guess I'll have to do it the more detailed way.

Yep. dansu is right; there's tons of room behind that panel you want to remove -- in fact, I routed a charging cable from the AUX/USB port in the armrest to the bottom of the steering rack using a coathanger and a grabber tool through that area (took about three minutes), and I've seen pics of aftermarket audio HU installs in that location.

Thanks. I'm actually looking to use an angle bracket to fix a phone mount to and anchor it to one of the torx bolts behind there. I've already got the charging/USB cable at the front (you can see what I did here: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1298958).

I don't want to obstruct any controls and don't like blocking the vents and since I don't really need to look at the display while driving for anything I figure this is the perfect location.

Although this is an F30, I figure it looks exactly like this behind there:

and that I can work with the right side torx screw to do what I want.

I was actually having issues with the tablet, so I just use my phone there instead. I also wrapped it in black suede. I think for my final product ill shell out the cash and do it in alcantara.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like a print. I could talk to my buddy with a printer and get one printed.

Thanks and cool idea but I actually have a phone specific mount I want to use. I have a Moto Z and want to use the Moto Mod capability

I do appreciate the offer.

I did pull the panel, but in the end I couldn't find a way to mount it the way I wanted. Instead, I would up using this idea: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1398067 to do this: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...6&postcount=12
