I push my 135 which has an n55 pretty damn hard even with a tune and have never run into limp mode.

When I had my 135i for 2 weeks after it delivered, the car would go into limp mode while slowly moving in traffic or stopped at a light for too long. I had to pull over shut down the engine for a good 15 mins and was able to drive normally again until I start to slow down. The fan never kick in after the temp goes up. The fan was broken, had that changed all is fine after.

I've seen pics and video of various cars. Most with the aux oil cooler hoses, assuming they go to the oil cooler in the front right fender. Just saw the drag race with the 235 and Lexus and did not see the aux oil cooler lines at the filter housing. Without the added oil cooler, I would be very worried about limp mode on the track. My N55 does not have the aux oil cooler and I limped it on the track (it's stock and AT), but never around town.

I track my nodded m135i almost every weekend and never hit limp save when the stock chargepipe blew off the throttle body, and it's hot as fack this time of year in japan.
Engine Mods are: racing dynamics piggy back, bms intake, Wagner comp fmic, and er chargepipe |

I've had the car go into limp mode two times when stock. Both times with a restart the car was fine and not a peep since.

Mind you I was monitoring the temp of the engine via the hidden menu and was impressed how quickly can the car lower the temps... Whats strange is that they were normal and it decided to lower them aggresively... Also did the limps stopped when doing a Jb4? What were you doing when your car entered limp mode? Thanks for all the info! JC |
