Rear Center Armsrest????

I have seen pictures that show the rear seat as having the fold down center arm rest with the cupholders in it and then some without the fold down. Can anyone confirm if that is part of a certain package or different spec based on what country you live in?

Not available in the US. WE have 60/40 split fold downs with that highly useful black rubber shite catcher in the middle.

Maybe because m235i and you have 228? I'm not 100% sure, I glanced back once and saw my friend was using a cup holder back there.

Well if you go out on auto trader and look at pics of every 235i out there, none of them have the 40-20-40 split, except for the ones with stock photos only. All have the black tray in the center seat, but the stock photos show a pull down center that has cup holders in the back of it. The photos from the actual US cars on the lot, there is no pull down center piece. Go take a look and see what I mean. It will have a little loop to pull on to bring it down. I have yet to see a pic of one in the US that did. Only stock photos or photos of non US cars.

well that sucks.. i dont understand BMW's logic on this one. If anyone needs cup holders in the back its the Americans! all we do is eat and drink.

I think it's supposed to be a jelly bean holder for my 4 year old but since there won't be any jelly beans, or drinks for that matter back there, I'm sure my boys will figure out something to do with it.

Agreed.

WTF is that thing? I rarely use the back seat so my tray contains a pen, a pencil and tire pressure gauge. My dog uses it to brace his back paws when I take him to the dog park.

Really wished we could've gotten the 40/20/40 split like other countries.

Yup! Love the 20% split in my F30. You can put long items into the trunk and still have 2 people in the back seat. I feel like the 235 is missing some stuff that should at least be options for those of us that want them.

I believe Canada has a cargo package that changes the rear seat folding configuration that is not available in the US for some reason. Bummer too, because I would have paid for it.

To confirm Canadian M235i's have 40/20/40 year seats with a fold down armrest and cupholders.

I feel like this has definitely been beaten to death in other threads as I have posted this before...

+ 1 on all counts.

2014 Canadian M235i was available only with Dakota leather for the seats.
