I found a couple of good websites that suggests how to adjust your seat for "racing".

http://www.turnfast.com/tech_driving/driving_seating

http://www.trackpedia.com/wiki/Seating_position

I've readjusted my seat, but it's pretty much the same as how I've had it before. My seat and steering wheel are both lowered all the way. I have my steering wheel at the "right" distance from my chest. But alas, the top of the dashboard is obscured by the top of the steering wheel.

Anyways, these are some interesting literature. But I suspect some people would find it blasphemous to sit like you're racing, when driving normally....

It's an old problem on most BMW models. If you set your seat for "racing" position, it ends up like that.

I am 5.6 and also have the same problem. Apparently it doesn't have anything to do with driver's height.

I'm 6 feet tall, sit with my seat as low as possible, and do not have anything obscured by the wheel.
