For those ordering cars maybe this will give you an idea of the time frame, ymmv:

I ordered a 2016 M235i vert on 6/23 and followed its production (it was born on 7/2) arriving in Bremerhaven 7/9. It left Bremerhaven on cargo ship Ivory Arrow 7/9 and Southhampton on 7/11 then sailed for Baltimore. Yesterday, 7/22, the ship docked in Baltimore and today is moored in Brunswick, Georgia, from which the car will head to Austin, hopefully getting here by 7/28 (just a guess).

One month from order to east coast arrival. That's much quicker than anticipated as my last ED took E.H. Harms much longer (8 weeks plus) just to ship my MB from Munich to Austin. I'm getting stoked!

Are you sure about that? 2016 production started on 07/15. Double check if your car is in fact a 2016.

Just curious, how would you know that 2016 production started at Leipzig on July 15th?

I Think Have A Look Here, It's The Only Way I Can Tell That He Knows '16 Started In July Not Necessarily The "15th".

I believe the "7/15" on that chart refers to July 2015 and not a specific date, as I recall that several forum members reported that their 2016 2 series cars were already in production prior to that date.

That's correct. It's not a specific date but July Of 2015. So one could assume that they started production of "My 16" on the 1st July 2015.

Yeah, and the 7/15 SOP (Start Of Production) date was first published something like 9 or 12 months ago. I always assumed that it merely meant that the model year changeover would be occuring sometime during July. One would not think they would have the EXACT SOP date that far in advance. The Germans are precise, but I don't think they are THAT precise :-)
