A rehashed CSL Hommage? So nothing new... I’m disappointed.

Thought this was a 1 of 1 with no real running gear just something stuffed in to allow moving it for shows.

Both the current M3 and M4 are due to receive the water injection technology as part of a planned facelift next year.

According to Scott26, the above statement made in the Autocar article is incorrect. Off the production line next year, only the M4 GTS will have the water injection technology. Not the M3 or M4. Reason: GTS exclusivity.
BMW doesn't want to charge the GTS owner over 100k euros for a car with a water injected engine and said owner discovering his next door neighbor has one of those cheap M4s with the same water injected thing-a-ma-bobs.

The "update" to the CSL had better be more like a major redesign.

Any spy shots of the M4 GTS? Also, though minor, hope they remove that hand brake lever and put an electronic parking brake like other //Ms.

Gotta remember that because it's a concept, the styling and all that could be similar to what we have seen, or in fact very different, if the car really did come to fruition. Weren't there quite a few changes between the concept and production-ready i8? But the concept M4 was pretty close to what we have now - so it can really go either way on that front.

The thing to be excited about are the technological advances and weight saving improvements underneath - those are the "trickle-down" aspects of a concept car that could end up in an M2 or M3 sometime in the not-too-distant future - which is worth knowing more about.

I was hoping for something new..like a concept for the Z sports car, i5, X7..the M2 and M4 GTS we already have a very good idea of what it'll look like anyway.

If they indeed bring a revised version of the CSL, would mean that they have some thing in mind with it, not being just a show car, at least imo.

I wonder whats the timeline for the 9 series that scott claimed that'll be heavily based on the VFL.

that threw me off as well, could be for the competition package? if so that would be a steep ZCP upgrade

M2 must not be fully designed yet to reveal. Maybe they're behind schedule and just threw in the CSL as a last minute replacement?

I think this is the closest you'll get to the future Production M2.

lots wrong there.....fenders are smaller on the prototypes and the render is missing the rear bumper slits....the rear bumper will also not look like the 235..it's kind of a lazy render.

Its our template for the harder edge exclusive bookend of BMW M.

More focused performance cars but with the latest progressive innovation such as further lightweight materials ,technology and whisper it eDrive features including eBoost.

You will know a CSL because it will be radically different with special Aeropacket and performance equipment.

Its a revival of what CSL stood for in the past Motorsport with progressive innovation but today for a very progressive future.
I love it. But I dare to be different, lol.
