(2018) M Performance Carbon Fiber Mirror Cap Part Numbers

Guys, looking for a little help. I need part numbers for a 2018 M240i M Performance Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps...car is pre-production (so I don't have a VIN yet).

The numbers I found were 51162211904 and 51162211905, and discovered that they are the bolt-on versions. From what I have seen, I need the clip in versions.

Looking to stick to OEM, but if I can't find the right part I'll go with IND.

Thanks!

BEM-S4 , thanks for the help!

Looking around a bit further, it looks like both clips (as they come from the factory) and the screw-ons (OEM M Performance) are interchangeable, as the mirror assembly accommodates both mounting solutions.

I wonder why there was a change in design...doesn't seem like mirror caps had issues with falling out...maybe theft? Is there even a market for stolen mirror caps?

I'll definitely reach out to Sun Motor BMW, I hear nothing but the best about those guys on this forum!

The stock ones were always clip in CF OEM always screw in. Some aftermarket CF at clip in. No idea why maybe CF is stiffer and doesn't lend itself to the clip in style withou breaking.

Too many were getting stolen, so that is why the screws. It was a security measure from what I read.

Makes sense but...

If someone wanted to steal mine I'd rather they steal them versus destroy the mirror assembly and steal them anyway.

The more likely reason for screw attachment compared with clips for true CF parts (that don't just have a CF shell) is that it is difficult to mold CF clips and clip retainers compared with a thermoplastic part, as the CF weave is not easy to get into small details such as clips and just filling the detail with resin leads to a weak clip or clip retainer.
