Now they are finally offering them at decent rates and it only took 2 years since its release

Better off buying it still IMO. Beat it and leave it lol. ITs a very fun car for 253Hp.

I could have leased a Focus ST for $300 per month with only $2k out of pocket. Don't know where you got this from. I lease my Fiesta ST for $209 per month. The amount of money I saved on gas from not having to drive the M3 makes the car payment.

That's good news. Hopefully we can get decent rates on the RS and GT 350 after the initial first year hype dies down.

How much down on the fiesta ST and did it have the Recaro seats for that price? These cars are a riot to drive!

Yeah now. When it 1st came out there was no lease deals or incentives or anything when I tried to lease it. Only my A plan employee discount was available. I passed since they wanted a crazy amount of money a month...

Yeah I replied to it. I'm a long time Ford motor co. Employee, and upon a release of a 2013 focus ST I immediately tried to lease one. It wasn't going to happen even under my employee program because they didn't have anything going on. Basically they refused to have a lease program. For the car at the time. This is not uncommon for Ford it's happened to me in the past. I needed a daily work car and trust me I would have had an ST instead of my basic focus lol no question. About a year later he's they started having great lease rates on the focus ST, I think it's $249-299 if I'm not mistaken. I'd love to pull ahead and jump into one for a DD.

Like I stated initially new Ford products mostly SVT related are very hard to get on a lease deal. You can, but you'll paying out the rear. Then they release the program. It's stupid I know. Every time a new SVT product came out I couldn't even get my discount on it and let's not even talk about the dealership 5-8k markups.

I'd sooner drive 3000 miles to a CA dealer selling for MSRP than pay a single dollar ADM for any vehicle. I consider it legalized grand larceny by dealerships.

Absolutely agree with you. Not giving the dealerships any extra money they don't deserve!

Made me sick to my stomach seeing GT500's of $55msrp marked up @80-85k SMH

The Focus RS will be a great car, A solid performance offering for its market and price range and will be well received. I would even drive one for a daily! I have no criticism except that it is not even in the same zip code as a competitor to an M2. Its a no contest

Why? Neither cars are sports cars, both are souped-up compact hatches.

OK.. laughed when I read that. Totally true. Still, while some early comparison to an M2 based on conjecture is plausible, I expect the Focus RS to be more comparable to a BMW 235. A comparison that may be favorable to Ford. The M2 should seriously outgun the RS.. should.. if they make it light enough.

We're going to get a close look at the US version of the Ford Focus RS this week from the NY Auto Show. That should answer some questions about the interior anyway. It's odd to me that the Focus RS is a year away from hitting the showrooms as is the BMW M2 but Ford is actively promoting and showing the RS while BMW is being very quiet about the M2.

If the RS ends up being on the high end of speculated HP of 350 and the low end of speculated weight of say 3200-3300 lbs. with optional Pilot Cup semi-slicks rubber, then I'd say it will compete with the M2 more so than the 235i.

On the other hand....315 HP and 3400 lb. stats will be more on par with the 235. Right now, there's just too many unknowns with the RS.

VERY underwhelmed by that interior.
It's an "m235 sport wagon"!

I can see the appeal of the RS to the Canadian market. I am sure it would be extremely fun on snow and ice with winter tires.

But the design language is so different, and the interior quality just isn't there. Performance at a bargain usual results in build quality like a Subaru STi

That said I've been waiting for Ford to bring the ST and RS line since the SVT focus.
