JB4 install issue
i am installing JB4 on my M235i and for the life of me cant figure out where to feed the OBDII can bus wire through the firewall.
the pic from install instructions shows a cap in the firewall able to be pushed into the car. My 2014 M235i has a hose from the brake fluid reservoir going in this proposed hole through the firewall. what other location can be used? any pics would help thnx |

Look a little lower... I found it easier to get a screw driver and poke it through the inside of the car to that space. Then simply look to see where it came out from.

It's a pretty thick piece of rubber and the obd is on the bigger side so it's hard to get it through... I ended up using a big drill bit to poke a hole big enough

If you haven't finished yet, I found a small rubber grommet the size of a U.S. quarter, right over the area highlighted by the red arrow. Had to fish it up through the hole from the inside of the car. Then sliced the half of the grommet open to reinstall it with the wire running through it.
These projects are so damn easy the second time. |

Install went like butter after finding the dreaded groumet. Im running map 1 right now. placed the EWG wires away until i go FBO. (still need FMIC/charge pipe). Car feels very solid. motor pulls hard/smooth and I feel like boost comes in quick and throttle is snappy in Sport. I didnt have the balls yet to try in Sport+. too much loss of traction Definitly a huge improvement. one thing that puzzles me is the fact oil temp and wtr temp were not showing any change in JB4 mobile app. restarted app and reconnected still showing a zero value. |
