2016 M235i CPO warranty
I have had my CPO 2016 M235i for 2 years, just found out there was oil on the O2 sensor, it probably be a VCG leak.
I would hate to replace it myself since I totally forgot that the CPO warranty expired 2 months ago in May. Called BMW North America, they said they might extend the warranty since I only have 47,000 miles, but I have to get the $197 inspection first to confirm the problem. I will not get reimbursed for the $197 if the warranty is not extended after the diagnosis. Does anyone have a similar experience? Will the warranty get extended? If the chance is bad, I would rather save the $197 cause I am gonna do it myself without warranty. |

update
Turns out there is a High-Cost Emissions- Related Parts Warranty in California that covers the VCG for 7 years / 70k miles, and the repair was covered.

When living in New Hampshire, I had two vehicles that had expensive emissions-related issues long after the initial manufacturer's warranty had expired. However, both vehicles were purchased in Massachusetts, which follows the CA regulatory scheme for emissions-related vehicle components. As a result, the repairs were completed under warranty even though they were performed in NH.
