New order time frame

SO I closed a deal on Sat and put the deposit down. So my question is.....how long should it take to get order confirmation, VIN to track and a eta on completion? It is Tues and have not heard anything from the dealer. I do not want to seem over anxious but.......

IF the dealer has an allocation for your car you will have the production number immediately. You won't get the vin until it is very near or is in production.

SO I need to contact them then....They mentioned something to the tune of 6 weeks to build and 8 weeks to PCD. I am still droving my trade as a loaner. They didn't give me any other official info. Since it was Sat I thought Mon or Tue I would here something official.

U should have a production number if they gave you a slot. Once in production you'll get the Vin.

I'm at almost 7 weeks and mine just got shipped. Hendricks probably has better allocation than BMW of Columbia so you should have your car in 8 weeks to Charlotte. I ordered 3/6 and it hits Brunswick 5/4 plus a couple days to Columbia.

Thanks...I purchased from Columbia. Joey did the deal and Nate met my terms...
Just a note...Hendrick was a PITA and would not work with me....didn't know the product and messed up on my wife's C250. I will not buy from them again. They guys at Columbia didn't mess around

You picking it up in Columbia or Charlotte? So far they only received 1 M235 that they sold before I could even get to drive because it sold so fast. I ordered No 2. They have been sitting on a 228 that they reduced the price on down to invoice. I ordered from George but then he retired so Nate handed it off to Jeremy. It looks like a little over 9 weeks for me but yours depends on when their allocation is. What specs did you get? Only problem I've had at BMW of Columbia is trying to get a loaner which isn't easy.

Any idea how long it is between getting the production # and the car actually beginning to be built?

From another thread it sounded like "it depends" based on the dealer's build slot? Is there any way to know that in advance before placing an order?

I'm getting close to placing an order but the dealer is saying it could be 3 months until it arrives.

Yes, every production number has an associated Build Week. You can then figure out when it'll enter production +/- 5 days based on that information. For example, Build Week 1 will be first week of Jan and Build Week 52 will be the last week of December. Just ask your dealer what the build week is for the production number they have.

I got GS with Coral Red but with a manual. I hope I made the right choice with Coral but I wasn't going to do black no matter what. Mine hits Brunswick on May 4. What trim, I did brushed aluminum with the Coral? I love Mineral with Coral but I just love how easy silver is to keep clean and I couldn't make the switch.

Yes, I had a production number and then got my VIN/Production started 2 weeks later. In between getting my production number and getting my VIN, both my dealer and BMW CS were telling me that there was no CONFIRMED production week yet.

I have a confirmed build week of May 4, but my car is showing as being in production already. is it just wishful thinking to hope it may have gotten started early, or does every order show as being "in production" after a few days/weeks even while waiting for a future confirmed build week?

If it shows as "In Production" then it is in status 150 or further.. so yes, actually in production.

well that is fun news. is there any reason they'd hold the car / slow down production and not ship out due to the build week being in May???

No.... It will go out as soon as it's finished...

What happens is that they leave some buffer in the productions slots in case something goes wrong.... so if everything is right they usually have some slots from other production weeks...

Lets say they can produce 20 cars/ week, the only schedule 17, if at the end of the week they are done with the 17 they take 3 from the next week for example
