I ran it down to showing one mile remaining when I put 13.07 gallons in. The tank is supposed to hold 13.7. So that would be just over half a gallon left

As for actual mileage, I'm averaging about 23 mpg in mixed LA driving after 1200 miles.

First 1K miles, 26ish MPG with an average speed of 50 MPH. Not bad at all.

Almost always in comfort mode during the break in period when they want you to keep the RPMs and top speed low.

What he said. 20-22 w/ mixed city/freeway with bursts of Sport + sprinkled in about 20% of the time. Got 28 on a pure freeway/70 mph/Eco trip last week.

I've put about 3-4K miles in on my M235i with auto trans. I drive mostly city, with a little bit of highway mixed in. I've taken it on one 4 hour round trip road trip. 22 MPG for me.

I got almost 25mpg in my M235i auto.

I picked it up from the dealership and drove about 250 hwy and 50 city. Hwy was mostly eco pro (84 MPH cruise control) and city was sport.

I drove 308 miles on the tank and showed about 20 miles left on the range. Filled up at 12.48 gallons with 93 octane.

308/12.48= 24.68 MPG on first fill up. I am about 140 miles on my second tank today.

I am getting around 27 combined after first 500 miles. The best trip MPG I have gotten is on the 110 miles back from the dealer where I got 36 mpg averaging around 62 MPH. That was in Comfort Mode all the way.

You seem to be missing the point; it's a industry standard to indicate 0 more miles and be able to squeeze out another 15.

My 228i gets around 21 for my commute, which is all "city" and "spirited", but when I took a short road trip (110mi each way) I averaged a little over 31 for the whole weekend, including some around town stuff while I was there. I have a heavy foot and average around 80 on the freeway.

Just drove from the DC area to Orlando. Stop and go traffic for the first 1-2 hours coming out of DC, then used cruise control at 85 on Ecopro for most of the time, unless the left lane riders were blocking the left lane, as there were plenty. Switched into sport and blew by them. Spent quite a bit of time with an RS7 at around triple digit speeds. City driving included in Raleigh for a good bit as I spent the night there and explored the city a bit.

Holy crap that's some good mileage there!!! Great stuff! Good to see that the M235i is capable reaching over 30MPG.

I'm getting 17.5 (MT) in mostly city driving and NOT pushing the car. Based on what I see here I need to take her to the dealer for a check up.

The best MPG calculation you can do is by calculating manually. I've had it say MPG that was 4 over what the ACTUAL was... i.e. the trip computer is not terribly accurate.

Now at 26.6 MPG since new. Got an amazing 34.7 MPG on our 360 mile return home trip yesterday. Comfort mode all the way, with cruising speeds generally between 70 and 82 MPH on the Interstate and passing bursts to 95+. I calculated MPG by odometer mileage and fill up gallons.

I'm lucky to have 18-20 mpg. I do a combo of FWY & city driving here in Los Angeles.

I ran out in my e46 when the computer told me I had 20 more miles. The gauge was well past empty so my fault for ignoring it!

Are most people going by what the Trip Computer says or actual miles drives/fuel pumped?

I'm going to start getting a Fuelly.com record with this next full tank of gas but the first full tank I got 263 miles out of 13.06 gallons, so 20.1 MPG. Not the greatest but there was a lot of idling (like a couple hours worth properly) while I sat in the car and messed with all the menu features and such. I expect it to go up but even that isn't terrible considering my previous car (2011 Audi A4) averages a little over 21 MPG.

I like the eco mode because it gives the ride smoother with the gas pedal.
With my 228i RWD in Eco Pro, I've been doing 40 miles w/ slightly downhill and getting 42-45mpg. Going back up those 40 miles, I would average 28-32mpg. So yeah, it would average about 36, in some instances higher.
