So in my Zymol starter kit I have the shampoo, wax and something called
"HD-Cleanse", is that like a pre-wax ? so should I wash, dry, HD-Cleanse then wax it ?

does the cleanse do anything, is it like a clay bar thought in liquid form ?

Kind of - it's a paint cleaner. From Zymol:
