in seriousness, sounds electrical and probably sucked up water. they can fix it, will probably take 2 months at least.

at least. They have to go through everything to diagnose what you fried tryig to start the car.

Replace all electrical. Than they need to change probably the turbos, the actuators, fmic, probably all the sensors and whatever else has dirty shitty water in them that will corrode.

i guarantee if you take the intercooler off, water will pour out.

why do you think the car just died all of the sudden?

probably have water in the cylinders too.

I'd fear the worst on this one, possible hydrolock.

I think water in the intake is a pretty clear sign...

1. Google hydrolock. Sounds like what could have happened here
2. Don't drive through a river. Even if you see other cars do it.

Look on the bright side. If they total it and you get another, your seat heater might work to your satisfaction.

Depends. Sometimes they can just dry everything out. If you bent a rod, it's probably game over.

Water doesn't compress easily like air. I'm not sure the starter can apply enough force to bend rods and break pistons, but my guess the initial damage happened when your car shut off when water hit it.

Easiest check to do at the moment is to see if the air filter is wet, if so, hydro lock is very likely, if not you probably soaked the electrics. If there is no water inside the cabin, wet engine compartment electrics are going to be somewhat easier to deal with. Hopefully everything turns out well for you.

Yeah that's not good. A shot glass amount of water can break a connecting rod. It doesn't take much. Doesn't help that the turbo basically acts like a vacuum cleaner sucking the water through intake, push the water past the turbo, the shoot the water through the intercooler into the cylinders.

Best case electronics get wet, no major damage, dry things out and you're ok. You already know worse case. Just have to wait for the dealership to let you know.
