88 foot lbs is correct.

I rocked 225/45R-17 WS80s on black Alutec Raptrs on my RWD M235i. Worked pretty good, no fitment issues, and Utah winters aren't nice.

+1.. 14x1.25 requires a bit more elbow grease. We always set ours at 103-105 ft-lbs

I decided to get 17inch but the tire sales person told me 205 would be better than 225. I don't know much about this stuff, do you guys think it would be ok to get 205-50-17 rather than 225-45-17??
I know it'll be narrower which may be better in snow, although I've read conflicting reports on this idea.

Ive gone with a compromise 215-50-17 square, but if i chose between your 2 I would have gone 205. I'm with the theory thinner is better.

Thinner tires can carve the snow a little better, I was going to go the 17" route and was looking at the 205-50-17 for narrower tires too but ended up getting a set of 18"s and went with the 225-40-18.

I kind of want to believe that the engineers at BMW have chosen the 225 tire width for a reason. So in a way I went back with the 225 tire width for snows...

For my 2016 228i Convertible with the stock 205/50/17 square setup, I chose 195/60/16's for winter. I went with the BBS SR wheels and the Michelin X-ICE XI3 tires.

It was a nice surprise to find them on my porch on Tuesday! I must admit despite the fact that Tire Rack recommended this sizes and assures me they will fit, those 60 series tires look massive compared to the stock 50's currently on the car!

I know I have posted before asking for the correct lug bolt torque. Seems that some people in the forum are posting 103 foot lbs. in various threads and 88 ft lbs. in other threads. This current thread offers both answers. Tire Rack told me 103. However, my BMW dealer confirmed that it is 88 for my car (I'm not saying that is right, I'm just saying that is what they say they use!). Maybe it varies by model or if you have XDrive Vs. RWD, etc. Not sure. Anyway, just thought I would throw that out there. And, if BMW is reading, please put the specs in the manual!

So how do you guys tell if a 17" wheel is going to fit over the //m brakes on the m235i? Its going to be super tight.

Really because I've searched:
17" wheel fitments
m235 -1 wheels
m235 17 inch
winter wheels

And I've found no list or dimensions =) other than a printout of tire rack for 2016... Mostly people are trying to put 19"s on or 9.5"widths which is not so great in the winter.

Just installed Blizzaks on my M235 x drive. Now my traction control light goes on when I accelerate and I also noticed that one of the tires gave off a lot of rubber. Anyone having similar issues?
