How many miles on car at delivery? Poll
I am curious as when i took delivery of 135i at performance center 6 years ago i only had 2 miles. Now M235i at the dealer it already has 10 miles.
Why so many more?

depends a lot on the transport, and maybe factory test-drive. Also, some dealers may go for a small joyride! :P

Yea the joyride is one main concern. Don't want rock chip damage before i get clear bra installed.

I think mine had 7 or 9km on it, don't really remember.

I had 6 on mine when I went to pick it up. I took it for a mile or so test drive just to make sure all was well before signing the paperwork, so I had 7 at lease signing.

My mini arrived at the dealer with 6 miles on, but when I came in to take delivery and sign the lease paperwork the car had 11 miles on it. I know the car arrived with 6 because that was the listed start mileage on the lease paperwork.
My STi came from another dealer in a trade and was driven the distance between dealers, so it had something like 115 miles on it. At the time of ordering there were only 4 cars in the color and body style I wanted on the east coast at dealers, so I didn't really have a choice.

From 6 - 11 sounds like they let someone do a test drive.

Except the closest gas station is over a half mile away, so it goes from 6 to 7.2 right there. And the remaining 3.8 miles? I really don't care.

Yea same here i was told they take the car down the road to gas it up. i would prefer a gas card. The gas station is only quarter mile down the road so it really shouldn't be more then half mile round trip.

I got it under 1 at the Welt. When I take re-delivery it will be over 1200 so if somebody takes it for a test drive, whatever.

I highly doubt a few miles of a test drive in the USA will punish it more than I did in Germany.

I think my baby had 30 km (18 miles) on it... no biggie but clearly there was test driving at the factory. BMW retailer assured me car would not be test driven by anyone upon delivery but who knows? Then again they wouldn't dare cross me otherwise I'd just whip 'em.

Interesting to see more miles at the performance center. I had only 2 miles. I wonder if the car is test driven more somewhere.
