If this is true, would absolutely require HK upgrade as the base stereo is terrible.

Surprising, though. I always assumed cars with Active Sound would come standard with full-range sound system.
Not sure what "typical" is, as the car has been around for a relatively short time. MY2014 did not come with tweeters in the A-pillar without the HK option, so there is no change to be deduced from visual ID.

No clue but the 0-60 times were way understated to begin with. C&D got 4.3 seconds 0-60 time on a 2014.
But isn't that universally true for turbo BMWs? I'm pretty sure BMW releases 0-60 times that are run at altitude, on a 100f degree day, at a slight incline and with a headwind.

Always better to under promise.

My 2015 M235ix has a build date of 7/27/14, supposed to be on the boat before they go on vacation in august Taking my JB from my 135 and putting it in the m235 first day..expecting 4s flat 0-60 times, but mostly interested to see how the 8spd feels with awd compared to the 135 rwd dct.

Anyone hear of the transmission software tweaks from the bmw motorsports m235i racing version is available anywhere? Rumored its from alpina?

Very true. In this case though they may have wanted to publish something that would be comparable to the competition. I highly doubt they made a change one year in but if they did I think they would have published it.

So glad Xdrive now available...

Living in the snow belt, this is the optimal set-up for me. RWD with snows are good, X Drive with snows is even better...

M235i Xdrive is very high on my next car list...Less than one year to go now!!

This just saved me $1650 from last years model as I don't need navigation. Good move here for sure.

I'm happy. My 2014 sticker was $52,300... About $550 (I'm at work, don't have it right in front of me) less then same build as 2015.

The bigger, wider higher quality screen would be reason enough for me to get the Nav pkg. Plus I think there are other benefits of the Nav pkg?

Yah all that extra 160 lbs...All it does is result in a .2 seconds faster to 60...

^ The AWD advantage is only at startup, for the first 30' there's better hookup. After that it's RWD all the way. The 5-60 time for the RWD will be faster by .2-.3 seconds.

The AWD's extra weight is going to give you worse MPG and less agile handling. AWD Bimmers never review as well as their RWD equivalents.

Your points are valid and having owned both (many times over) I am aware of the differences. I don't think the XDrive is going to be that much of a penalty at the pump and yes AWD has a different feel driving vs rwd - but still fun as hell in the handling dept.

I used to be a RWD zealot. But living in the snow belt, AWD is not a trade-off for me and I don't fret over lb's like many owners do..

I get why, but .4 sec slower in traffic just doesn't matter to me...

Dynamic Handling Package was $1,000 and included just the M Adaptive Suspension and Variable Sport Steering. Now it falls under the Track Handling Package with includes the 2 above plus the M Sport Brakes. If you end up getting the 228i without the M Sport Line the package itself is $2,200 but if you get the 228i with the M Sport Line the package is reduced to $1,600 (actually saving $50 since the M Sport Brakes are a $650 option). Reason why it's $2,200 without the M-Sport Line is because you'll then have the option of the 18 inch Sport Wheels.

For the 228i, are you saying the AWD with the Track Handling Package has the same suspension as a RWD with that package?

For the M235i, I did a quick comparison of the features for AWD vs RWD. The only difference I saw was the default tire / wheel selection. Either version can be equipped with staggered / summer tires or square / all season tires with no difference in price. Otherwise it looked to me like the AWD has the same suspension as the RWD.
