I've done a manual calculation twice and both times it showed the trip computer was only 0.1L/100km off from the actual amount. I just go off the trip computer now.

Went on a roadtrip this past weekend, mostly backroads, some highway distance, total trip was 610 miles, 26.5 mpg, average speed of 42.1 using only sport and sport +, no cruise control on the highway portions. This includes being stuck in stop and go traffic for an hour. Not bad in my opinion.

That's great to hear! I hope I find the same thing with my car because all others cars I've had till now have all been too optimistic in the trip computer readout. My A4 was 2.5-3 MPG over the manual calc and the E350 Diesel is usually 1.5 - 2.5 MPG over on the trip computer vs actual.

I'm really optimistic about my current tank of gas. I put in 13.1 gallons last fill up and according to the BMW Connection app, I have 8.7 gallons left, meaning I've used 4.4 gallons and I've driven 122.7 miles which comes out to 27.9 MPG! That would be fantastic. It's been about 50/50 hwy vs street and I used Eco Pro on the highway and Comfort on the street.

Had a 36mpg motorway run of around 40 miles miles 3 miles town driving each end, was Eco Pro and steady slow pace. Best I'd probably expect.

Overall average over a very early 400 miles now is 28mpg.

In 2000 miles, I have averaged 20mpg. But, I have driven it quite hard for much of that since I did do Euro delivery.

Comfort mode, 80mph, for 96 straight miles, on cruise, 28.2...
Activated auto tune map on JB4, same 80mph, on cruise.. 31.3, 106 miles in that test.

So went through my first full tank that I put in and pretty impressed, getting better mileage than I was in my 2011 A4 FWD auto.

308.0 miles out if 13.2 gallons, or 23.3 MPG. Can't believe how spot on the computer readout is...23.2 MPG per the computer, that's the closest I've ever seen on any car, I'll have to see if it's always that accurate.

My best freeway trips, when I use Eco Pro, are in the low 30s @ 70-75 MPH. Not bad at all.

And afterwards I filled it up and ropped on it a bit afterwards! There goes that decent gas mileage!

When in the Eco Pro app, there is a trophy looking icon you can scroll to and open up, like this:

I'm freaking amazed how accurate the fuel computer MPG gauge is on this car, I've never had a car be anywhere close to this good. Filled up my second tank tonight, 275.6 miles out of 13.19 gallons which comes out to a calculated 20.90 MPG. The car's computer said 21.0, so off by 0.10 MPG. The last tank was off by 0.10 MPG as well.

You actually let it get all the way down to 0 and kept driving it?

Oh wait..that's right..you're from Florida

Jut curious of your calculations. If you calculate 235 miles divided by full tank 13 Gallons you get 18. So the computer would be correct. How did you get 21-22 mpg?

I think he meant 235 as in M235i, not 235 miles.

I'm surprised the computer was off by so much when mine is dead on.

As of yesterday, my M235i is showing 26.1 MPG since new. I'm really happy with that number, especially since I haven't put any real effort into achieving good MPG numbers. I just drive it - and punch it occasionally. And as I mentioned previously, my best highway MPG to date was 34.7 MPG on a 360 mile trip leg, mostly at 70 to 82 MPH in the Comfort mode.
