Smile New bootmod3 N55 Burble Update is INSANE! vid inside

Upon initial testing it seems that the burble on / off can be controlled simply by switching between the "S" (on) and "D" (off) transmission settings. This means you can be quiet when you need and not so quiet (huge understatement) when you want! It has only been tested on EWG N55 so far. PWG to be determined.

The guys at PTF have done it agaaaain!

Our test car:
2014 BMW 335i (EWG)
Mods:
Catless DP's
Catback Exhaust
Bootmod3 Flash tune

What do you think?

Can the M2 sound be replicated on the F22 via flash..? Which catback exhaust is this, resonator or muffler..? Was this car dyno'd or what #'s have been made with FBO N55 EWG on pump and or E85 mix ..?
Thnx

I think it's still pretty new and in Beta, but tonnes of positive feedback has been pouring in already.

D/S mode change is great, make BM3 complete different to other brands' flash tune.

That's sounds different to M235i's stock burbles, do they work in same way?

May not be the best thread to ask but can someone give me a comprehensive explanation on what all the bootmod3 gives me? I'm very strongly considering this and from what I read it seems amazing- I just can't seem to get a clear picture of what all it can do..

It's more popular on the 3/4 series n55 board. They don't push it much over here. Probably cause of the smaller user base.

It's a full flash tune that lets you flash the DME via OBDII port after an initial DME unlock that requires pulling the DME.

After the initial unlock you can upload tunes via laptop or iPhone/Android.

They have a few off the shelf tunes (91oct, 93oct, ect) or you can get a tuner to make a custom flash for you.

Also offers other custom options like the modified exhaust burble, clearing CEL codes, etc...

That's pretty nice, is the power delivery smoother/ more natural than say a jb4?

According to reviews, yes. Big thing is it allows the throttle to be open 100% compared to Jb4 which varies the throttle to help manage boost.

Actually BMS- I get the gunshot backfires now that I have a BMS intake as well but I like the backend ability to tune the gurgles so there more consistent. Ops car sounds amazing

What do you think?

Did you have to pay extra for the burble tune or does it just come already on the BM3 and you just have to turn it on?

You can specify what burble you want with the BM3 OTS tune. I got the GTS burble option. There is a no burble option. If you want different options you could buy another OTS tune. My car has a catted downpipe, so the gunshot type burble options were not recommended. By moving the shift level to the sport position when driving gives you the burbles.

hate to bust ur bubble, but all flash tunes are more aggressive with burble in sport and less noisy and calmer in D.

I have had 3x tunes and each acted in the same way. It's not just a PTF thing.
I don't even run a burble map and I still have extremely loud pops and bangs.

My opinion is the burble tunes sound so exagerated and fake. It goes on for too long and is just annoying rather than sounding gritty.
Its more shoes in a dryer than automatic rifle.

Has anybody in here run BM3 on M235i for an extended period (close to a year)? Considering it and would like to get your thoughts/opinions. Also, I've heard that running this tune causes some extra wear on the turbo due to the increased frequency of spooling...just a myth??

Appreciate any and all feedback!!

Just got mine on today and noticed the immediate increase with Stage 2 93 Octane. It's safe to assume that wear and tear is imminent due to increased power and likelihood of the driver driving it harder than normal.
