Hi Mike,

I may have accidentally turned off the auto cel clear function on my jb4, how do I check or turn it back on?

I have a m235i with a high flow cat and jb4. Currently on map 2 and there's a cel. I cleared it at a shop but it came back on after a while.

The JB4 does not auto clear downpipe code anymore (post you quoted is from 2015)

A few months ago BMS changed over all their JB4's to not auto clear on downpipes anymore to be within regulation of emissions guidelines. If you have updated your firmware recently or purchased a JB4 post 10/2017 auto clear for downpipes have been turned off.

No I had this jb4 since 2015 and have not updated the firmware either. I had a shop clear the CEL via their scanner. It disappeared for a while before coming back again. Only thing i can think to try now is to turn JB4 back on but how?

I've been running the JB4 on my FBO N55 2014 m235i for the last month or so. I've been on map1 just getting used to everything and it keeps throwing a "catless downpipe detected" code on the JB4 app although I have a catted ER downpipe installed. Anyone have any ideas? Should I just be running map5 or something similar?

Aftermarket catted downpipes often throw codes. I have a Wagner catted DP and it threw a code yesterday. My BM3 normally clears this but I just flashed a stage 1 OTS map which must not disable this code. If you don't have a flash tune you need to have the JB4 auto clear. If your JB4 has recent firmware the auto clear switch has been disabled in the UI, but there are workarounds.
