ER Charge pipe Install Question
So a couple months ago I installed an ER charge pipe on my M235 and everything has been running very smooth. Yesterday I just happened to look down at my driveway and found one of the little back plastic retainer clips that holds the metal c-clip onto the charge pipe and intercooler.
Here is a picture of the black retainer clip from the installation guide. I crawled under the car and determined it was from the charge pipe side of the intercooler. I cant remember if I put the retainer clip back in when I installed the charge pipe but I was wondering if that black retainer clip is necessary? I'm having a hard time getting it back on without dropping the intercooler and I really don't want to do that. I called ER but all their techs are away preparing for some race so hopefully someone here knows. Thanks! |

I couldn't figure out how to get those POS plastic clips back on when I put in my ER chargepipe nearly six months ago. No issues, and I run AA8, so the connection is handling the added boost no problems to date.

a question on this - I see companies selling replacement C clips for charge pipe installs.
does anyone know how many are needed are for what side? hot or cold? cant seem to make it out on the ETK or realoem diagrams.

Btw, I've been driving without those clips since I started this thread and have had zero issues so they definitely aren't needed. Edit: wait, are you taking about the metal c clips that the plastic clip hold in? |
