My Alpine White M235i Stormtrooper/Panda/etc

Received my M235i earlier this year and have been modding it slowly since.

Latest mod:
VMR v710's in custom color gloss anthracite
F: 18x8.5 ET35
R: 18x9.5 ET50

Upcoming mods:
Fabspeed sportcat (on order)
Tune
Intake
Dashcam w/mirrortap
Dinan springs (maybe, worried about front lip ride height)
Grocery bag hangers

Completed mods:
MP LSD
MP Front lip
MP CF rear spoiler
MP Exhaust w/chrome tips
MP Diffuser
MP SS pedals
Black kidney grills
Autoid CF mirror caps
Stealth front turn signal bulbs
IND AW front reflector deletes
IND gloss black badging
MP Illuminated door sills
Exhaust flap disconnect
Pro clip iphone mount
Manually adjusted headlight level (way too low from the factory)
Weatherstrips
Tint
JL audio rears
Eton front speakers
Misc codings
BMW club car control clinic (driver mod! now going to a BMW track day soon)
Randomly auto disconnecting HK subs
Rattle behind the instrument cluster
(ok not really the last two )

Latest pics w/wheels on. Decided on the ET50 rears just in case I decide to drop the car on Dinan springs. Ended up liking the way they look stock as well since they don't poke out as aggressively vs the ET45 rears. ET40 up front was my first wish but they aren't available, however after putting on the ET35 fronts it ends up matching the ET50 rears nicely in poke-factor.

Looks great. So that's the stock ride height with the stock staggered tires?

stock ride height.

the rears are actually 255's. the fronts are still 225 but I'm going to replace them with 235's once they wear out shortly. the 255 rears are another reason why I went with the ET50 offset, just to be safe if I do drop it.

Very nice indeed. How close to the rear strut are you with that et50? Was told when going to 19s that et42/44 was the max. I'd assume on 18s that et50 would be much closer than 19s at et44.

Thanks. I'm considering these wheels, but in a square setup with 18X8.5 ET35 using the OEM staggered tires.

with the et50 9.5 rears my eyeballs tell me the clearance is slightly under half an inch to the strut shroud thingy (#5 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=33_1619 )

Very nice car! I just got my Fabspeed sport cat installed today, and I'm running it with a Dinan exhaust. It sounds insane. You'll love it. And it definitely pulls a little harder. I have almost the same wheel set up as you, except V810's. Do you think 235's will fit on the front no issues?

Awesome, thanks Xenny. I've been debating on some new wheels and found the m2 replicas and was told they could shave the fronts down to et39 and the rears to et44, but want to run 265s in the rear. Fronts should hold 235s no problem.

Looking at your 2nd picture, the fronts look like they might rub with 235s on them. Think going 19x8.5 et45 would be to much for the fronts? I'm looking at the VMR721s and they offer et45s, but wasn't sure how close your fronts were to the strut.

not sure how close the fronts are to the strut but I believe VMR says an ET40 8.5 is the minimum they would rec depending on the 235 tire used.

My ET35's should be fine *fingers crossed*

The vmr thread over in the wheels and tires section usually has brandon answering clearance questions with more certainty

i was told ET35 8.5 fronts should be ok with 235's, ET40's would be cutting it close depending on the tire used. I'd double check in the VMR thread over in the wheels and tires section though.

Yea I read through it all last night and he was saying 45s with a 5mm spacer on 18s. Wasn't sure if it applied for 19s as well so I asked. Hopefully he can give a definite answer thanks for the help
