I just got back from a 10 day vacation in Germany, and I saw a significant of M235is and M135is, in addition to many many many M3 and M4s in Munich and Stuttgart. Way more than I see here in Philly. At the nurburgring I saw E46 M3s, 2 guys in M235i's doing euro delivery (1 white coupe 6 speed, the other white convertible xdrive), 135s (E82) and Porsches.... I was genuinely surprised and amazed at how many NEW BMWs, Audis, Benzs, and Porsches I saw in Germany. I think the 3 most common cars I saw were VW Passat wagons, 3 and 5 series wagons, A6 wagons, and C/E class wagons.....

I think that many employees lease them at very affordable rates, because they're genuinely EVERYWHERE.

Either that or Germans REALLY love cars

Yeah kind of...

The problem is that most of the 1-, 2- and 3-Series you ever see are 16i or 18i models. I personally drive a rental 118i at the moment (business trip) and it sucks major ****.

RacerDad good to see someone take his 235 to the 'ring for break-in period. How did you like the car on the track?

Really? I thought most were 20d. Most of the ones I saw with badges were 525d and 530d. Gas is more popular than Diesel in the lower displacement models?

Mostly, yes. The equivalent Diesel models are easily 3-4k€ more expensive.
But you´re right, most of the company cars will be 20d in the 3 series (great engine) and 30d in the 5 series and above.

That´s what I really like about being in the US every once in a while. All the BMWs and Mercedes you ever see are at least the R/V 6, if not even the V8 models.

The car did great, especially with the stock tires (Pilot SS) and brakes. I posted the entire writeup on the ED forum. The write-ups on the Nurburgring start here:

Got one more pic. This is from Kliens Karussell (Little Carousel).

Haha really? I enjoyed seeing European BMW models because I felt like they're more representative of German taste! We only get the "good stuff". I love that you guys have many more options....

I will say that after spending 10 days driving a 520d, all of our cars back home, including the 528i feel like absolute ROCKETS!

Heh, they definitely have more options alright. My German dealer here told me absolutely everything that we get as standard equipment is an option for the European models and it racks up really quick. They can get a bone stock, small engine, manual transmission, 4 speaker radio with no USB or BT and steel rims for just under 20k euros. No auto seats, or any of the fancy stuff that we get for the base model 2 and 3 series. Granted those are both about $6-7k more (euro to dollar conversion), but they'd have to pay more than that even to get the added stuff.
