M235i "best all around" is probably right, but I'm not surprised by how well he regarded the Mustang.

Ironically, I had a new one as a rental car yesterday (though it was the EcoBoos I-4), and it was MUCH more enjoyable to drive than I expected, and it just looks fantastic. Great coupe. I'd love to drive a GT (or better yet, a Shelby GT350 with the 8,250 rpm flat crank V8!)!

Doesn't surprise me that the m235i won, although he seemed a little biased towards the Audi.

Probably didn't use a 1ft rollout that everyone else seems to use to get these amazing numbers.

Compared to the US model, the export Mustang is detuned.

Oh yes. I had considered buying a GT convertible. I wasn't offered any discounts and I could only take one of those available in the stock. The dealer told me that Germany's 2016 contingent for convertibles was already exhausted and that he did not know when new convertibles would be delivered. He explained that Ford decided to deliver more Coupés to Germany because of the extremly high demand.

I was also told that some dealers even ask for prices higher than the actual list price.

At the end I did not opted for the Mustang because the hood fluttered (I hope it is the right term) above 200 km/h which is not really fast.

Well, in Germany, the Mustang is an intriguing foreign car with qualities that reflect the country of origin. Just like an American consumer might look to German makes for things like driver-focused handling and European understated luxury, a German consumer looks at the Mustang and see the fun, testosterone-infused iconography of the American muscle car.

The Audi TT is a dog. It didn't even feel comparable to my 228i, I can't imagine how slow it must feel compared to the m235.

Don't get me wrong, I think the styling - inside and outside - is phenomenal. But the car is overpriced and slow.

Interesting you should say that. As much as I agree with you on the last sentence and the awesomeness of that flat crank V8 I'm not with you on the Eco boost model.
I recently rented one as well and thought it was simply atrocious compared to anything BMW offers. The turbo lag was worse than my dads former 1985 190D Benz...chassis was loose and uncontrollable...but more than anything I hated the seating position!

The TT is a car suited for hairdressers and erm, feminin guys, it started out as a joke, and i still can't take it seriously.
The mustang is an icon, it's brash and have the US blend, it seems people forgets that the Mustang was a budget solution back then, and still is, hence the quality.
But it still looks good.
The 235i, efficient, great engine and the ZF of course, a bit bland perhaps amongst these.
But deserved winner.

The US Mustang is optimised for 93 octane (AKI), and that is the same as 98 octane (RON) as they use in Europe. The Europe Mustang is otimised for 95 octane (RON), and not 98 octane (RON) as the US Version. Less Power.

Agreed. The Ecoboost 4 was terrible (which I thought I implied). It was still a pretty fun car to run around with in spite of the power train. You could tell the chassis had potential, it was just under powered and under tired!
