"No line" question

Does anyone know if you order a "no lines" 228i with the Track Handling Pkg, do you still get the increased top speed limiter? Of academic interest in the US, but I plan to do Euro Delivery. As a rather large fellow, the sport seats don't agree with me, and I actually like the look of the car better without the Sport Package. Especially I hate the black headliner - feels like sitting in a coal mine. I realize they charge more for the Track Package without Sport or M-Sport.

You must order performance tires, not a/s, and make sure the high speed limiter code is selected on the order sheet.

Yes...the base 17s are only rated to 130 mph. You would need to order with higher rated tires. Plan on going over 130 in Germany?

Track Handling Package comes with 18" Pilot Sports. But it doesn't SAY you get the increased limiter, as that is included in the Sport or M-Sport specifically. But it stands to reason that the Track Package would get it too. But we all know BMW's reason is not necessarily ours! Lack of it would not stop me, I will only get to use the extra speed occasionally for a month.

Of COURSE I plan to go over 130mph in Germany, if the car will do it. Since an unlimited N52 328i will top 150mph on 230hp, I presume that a 228i will as well, with no limiter.

I assume that is a rhetorical statement ...

Because, yes, that should ALWAYS be the plan

The unlimited 228i has a top speed of 155 MPH I believe.

You get used to running fast rather quickly over there. The big difference is that you can for the most part trust the other drivers to not do stupid things, and of course the lane discipline is simply in a different universe. With my 328i, running 120mph is not really any different than 70mph, other than of course you have to pay more attention as things happen a lot more quickly. Beyond that speed, the car starts to move around more, you are much more aware of the effects of crosswinds and truck bow waves, that sort of thing. BMW's speed limiter is spot on per my GPS, 130mph actual was better than 140mph indicated on the speedo.

This was between Stuttgart and Berlin in '11. 115mph-125mph or so. No big thing. We averaged 105mph between Stuttgart and Berlin, and got 25mpg at those speeds.
