Alpine's Estoril slick top with LSD and 6MT

Took delivery yesterday! I haven't driven it much yet but I have had it on my favorite canyon road (Mulholland drive) twice already.

I spent hours clay baring the paint today. It looked good when I picked it up but now it looks brilliant. I love the Estoril

I was a little worried about my choice of interior color (Oyster) but now that I have it I'm totally happy.

I cant drive it hard yet but the engine has creamy torque everywhere and sounds like a proper BMW. I loved the N20 4 cylinder in my 328i but I never enjoyed the sound. The M235i makes music.

The chassis, steering (in sport mode) and tires work together very well. Again, I barely have any miles on the car but it makes my F30 feel like a soft luxury car in comparison. The M235i is MUCH sportier. No contest.

My favorite thing about the car besides the fact that I got a manual is the physical size of it. The car has perfect proportions. I don't feel like I'm in a toy car, nor do I feel like I'm piloting a ship either. It's quick to turn in and change directions. I can't wait til it's broken in and I can play with the LSD!

I've decided that I'm going to leave it bone stock for a while so that I'll have a good baseline of it's (and my) abilities before and after any mods. I did put on my BMW CCA grill badge though. Oh, and before anyone says "get black grills!", I'm keeping my chrome grills.

Looking gorgeous! And running Mulholland Drive to boot.

I had one run on Mulholland - in a rental car. Really pissed off the wife gunning it in a Crown Vic.

Good idea! I just did a track day and the power is everywhere on these. Able to pass most on the track, the engine easily kept pace with the Audi S4/S5s. The only mod I have done is a drop in AFE air filter, not the cold air intakes (too noisy for me).

Thanks!

I've only seen one other 235 on the forums that's this exact color combination, it was an automatic. I did a nationwide search (my CA did) and there was not one in the entire country this color scheme with a manual trans. It was totally worth the 3 month wait!

Congrats! Great choice of colors (my choice exactly and I can't wait).

For some reason, though, the picture shows the interior color (oyster) looking a lot more like a beige color compared to other photos I've seen.

Yeah, depending on the lighting it can look off white, light gray/silver, or beige (which I don't like). So far in real life, I always like the way it looks. That's not the case in pictures.

When I took delivery there was an M4 parked near my car. It was Alpine white with Sonoma beige interior. Looking at them side by side you wouldn't say my seats were beige.

Thanks BTW

Here's another picture in different lighting (all these pics were taken on a Galaxy cell phone)

You can see the interior looks more white and less beige. I would say it's actually neither color. What is "oyster" exactly anyway?

Thanks for the reassurance! I think the intention is that the color is similar to the inside of an oyster, which in reality is probably best described as light gray/silver.

When I had my 3 and I'd wave or give another BMW owner a thumbs up, more often than not I got no response or at best a blank stare. I think (hope) M235i owners will be more enthusiastic. I'll wave at every MG 235 I see until it's actually you!

On the "build your own" site, it does look gray/silver but in reality it does not. Either way I doubt you'll be disappointed. So far all I've received is rave reviews from everyone that's seen my car. "Beautiful!" is the most typical response I get when people see the interior for the first time.

Spent hours waxing my car last night and finished it today. Rewarded myself with a drive on my favorite canyon road. I took a few cell phone pics for your enjoyment.
