Injen M235 Intake Pictures
Finally got my Christmas present installed. Overall it's a pretty simple install, not 100% drop-in, some assembly required. But it's fairly easy and takes around 20-30 minutes. The worst part was getting the small cover in front of the intake back on and screwed in. The Injen metallic shield takes over some of the space, and it's a bit squished in there now... Not the best design. It uses one of the factory bolts as an attachment point for the shield.
Removing the stock intake is pretty easy. 1. Release the clamp at the intake hose, flat head or socket. 2. Unplug the MAF sensor 3. Disconnect the vacuum line (if Automatic tranny). Careful the clips break pretty easy on this. Some soap and water spray might help lube things up. Press both sides, twist a little and pull straight up. 4. Unclip the top of the intake box, there are four clips. 5. Remove the intake box, it's held in by two grommets (they just press-in), pull straight up, a little jiggling might help. 6. Once everything is out, transfer the MAF over to the new intake, and follow their directions. Thank you Mike@X-PH for your great customer service and products |

It's pretty sweet, I find myself playing with the throttle a lot more to get the diverter valve to release more, wooooosssh. You can also hear the turbo spooling up, vrrrooooooom.

I get that too when I have the auto clear feature off on my JB4. Don't worry about it.

It looks like that's a different design then the one I bought from x-ph. My vacuum hose is in front of the maf. I couldn't get my cover back on where the heat sheild is. I also get codes and the car has hesitation issues and rough cold starts. I unplugged my maf and it runs a little better. But it does sound good. I just wish they put a bracket at the front of the charge pipe so it wouldn't rattle in the fan shroud.

Lol, no they did a poor job fitting it.. You can get that cover to fit, but it's not perfect. I got it to a point where it's on and the screw is in..
If you loosen up your two intake bolts, and lift the charge pipe up a bit from touching the shroud, and then tighten them while holding them up ( or use something to space it up a big). Then you should be able to keep it from rubbing the top of the fan shroud. No hesitation or cold-start issues so far. |

Yup, the shield took the longest to install man. everything else was a breeze. I too got a cel. I took out the maf sensor and sprayed it with a bit of MAF cleaner. No cel ever since. No rough starts or idle or anything. Sound is amazing. It's been over 6 months now and I still love every second of it.

Many people don't have a CEL with most intakes. Unfortunately forums make it out to be something that is very common when 1000's of people don't have issue.
