Maybe he meant it in the possessive as he wrote it....just waiting for the final noun......pussy's _________(what)?. Inquiring minds want to know.

I've used my fob to open windows from well over 150' away (line of sight) and accidentally set off the panic alarm from 100' away inside my house (on the side of my house furthest from my driveway). Not sre what your issue is, but lack of range hasn't been an issue for me.

It's curious that BMW made the standard fob bigger (F10, F22 vs. E90, for example) without changing or adding any function. I liked the smaller E90 fob better.

Conversely, I understand that the fob wirelessly syncs with the car. Have seen the SA put the fob against the steering column to update its data. (Shrug), not something I have made much attention to, but our X3 fob is slightly longer. Compared to my Note 8, not much to worry about. |

Last year, nearly a dozen cars of several makes in my condo building were broken into using such a device -- twice in a six-month period. My 2 Series doesn't have 'Comfort Access' passive keyless entry; that likely spared me (and a pair of $400 sunglasses in the glove box, among other things). If I can help it, I will never own a car with passive keyless entry again (I purposefully left it off the option list for the Porsche I now have).

Comfort access on the other hand is what allows you to open the doors without pressing a button on the key fob.

- Active keyless entry requires a driver to actively press a button on the fob to unlock the car - Passive keyless entry requires a driver to have the fob near the vehicle to unlock the car "Comfort Access" is merely BMW's nomenclature for its passive keyless entry system. My post has been edited to clarify that I mean passive keyless entry.

If I wanted a giant key fob I would get an iphone 7, 7 plus 6+ or whatever but I have an iphone SE because I don’t want a giant iphone. Its not like the fob has a big screen to stream tv shows it just basically is what a simple metal key used to be. Those of you that carry a purse must love it.

It's certainly larger in all dimensions than the fob on my 135IS and has no more functionality. It's not a big deal, not even the worst thing about the car but believe me, a 77 year old man needs all the help he can get in his skinny jeans.
