Kerm1ts Thread: MG/MR

Finally after 8 weeks she's finally home. My CA just sent over the photos and will be picking up tomorrow morning. Will post more soon including JB Intake and JB4

if i don't have tech package, is the nav screen smaller in the US models?

Congrats, looks great. The screen is bigger when you order the tech package (navi, etc).

Congrats! Very sharp looking interior. If they don't bring the hexagon alcanterra to the US, this will be my choice, too!

The DP is definitely worth it and it really wakes up the car.

The pop is more pronounced with the downpipe and that's when you start to hear it in sport mode .

brought her home. definitely can't handle driving in anything but sport mode…

it might be just me, but does the car feel like its missing a lil bit of feedback from the steering? also when you punch the car from about 4000 RPM it feels pretty slow. only if i give it gas early in first gear it feels like it flies. Maybe i just got too used to my s2k.

why are my photos uploading sideways??? _@

It's a very differnt power curve compared to the S2000. I had one and loved it but the motor in your new car loves to be loaded up lower down in the rpm range. Try a hard run to 60 short shifting at around 5500 rpm in each gear versus redline. I think you'll be happy. It's just a different power delivery than your used to. Enjoy.

It should pull pretty nicely at 4K in the lower gears. You definitely won't feel much in the higher gears though. Now go get it on the dyno .

What was the power of your S2K?
The power band is different in the M235i. Also this car is heavier!

yea most def. i was pushing 350whp. s2k had zero low end but getting on high way and speeds above 40 was game over.

as everyones been saying, it is a totally diff power band which i knew, but didn't expect it to fall flat on its face above 60.

but i will say driving around town and getting up to 60 is pretty damn awesome. tq is insane!!

i still have my intake and jb4 sitting at home so ill post again shorty after i install it. im just trying to get a feel for the car stock so i have something to compare it too

You should add a better exhaust with downpipes too

Nice! Would be great to see some pics of the interior at night, and how the ambient lighting looks.
