"My BMW" vs "Connected" apps

As soon as I installed the new "My BMW" app, my 2018 CPO 230i no longer had road service & emergency call features active. BMW "Genius" in NJ response was to call the dealer since the app was happy to "upgrade" my connected services for a mere $50/yr which I declined.

Anyone else with late model vehicles and loss of services due to the change from the original "Connected" app to the new "My BMW" app? I know there's a basic incompatibility with cars before 2014ish due to reliance on 3G, but the idea of paying for services in a car under warranty for another 2 years is ridiculous.

I have the 2018 230i as well. Just looked and on "connecteddrive" website it shows that I have eCall and remote services active until mid 2022 but I do have an option to buy the "Connected Package" (for $50) which I haven't seen before. Not exactly sure what's going on here but based on what I see in the car, RTTI, weather, and remote services work, so far..
