M235 headlight problem?

Tonight as I was pulling into the garage I noticed something that seemed odd. When I turn the wheel to the right, the headlights move in reaction (which is great). But when I turn the wheel to the left, the headlights don't move. I thought I remember them moving to the left as well.

Is this normal or is something broke?

To re-state the problem in another way... if the wheel is centered and I move the wheel to the left, the headlights stay pointed straight. If the wheel is centered and I move it to the right, the lights move as well. When I return the wheel to the center the lights move back to the center.

Shouldn't the lights move both to the left & right of center?

Thanks for any help.

Lights don't turn left because it'll blind oncoming traffic.

Interesting. I never noticed that they don't turn left. I'll have to check this out with my 328.

I think that you may consider reading user manual... It's clearly explained.

If you have the garage lights this can make them do funny things.

Active headlights do go to the left, just not when the vehicle is stationary.

I'll try to confirm this tomorrow night.

What's the reasoning?

Alright everyone, from what I gathered at training:

BMW Adaptive Headlights DO turn left and right. A stationary vehicle's headlights will NOT turn left in order to not blind oncoming traffic, but WILL turn right. A vehicle in motion headlights WILL turn both left & right with the steering wheel.

The blinding of oncoming traffic. Imagine pulling off to right side so you can turn around. You turn the wheel left, while stationary, so that you can make the turn when traffic clears. If the lights went left at this point they would be directly at oncoming traffic.
