Kudos to the gentleman that will measure!!!
BMW Genius /= BMW AG Engineering. You cannot expect them to know every technical detail about every car, especially random questions like that. BMW recommends oil for a particular car, and if they intended any cross compatibility, they would let the dealers know.

??????

I don't expect that at all!

I contacted BMW directly and asked for engineering. They had a genius call me back instead.... waste of time.

I bought the power seats as they are infinitely adjustable unlike the manual ones, it takes me forever to get my seat as I like it and I can guarantee someone will move it at BMW if I take it in so I also like the memory function, I had manual seats in my 335d but always regretted not having power seats

I haven't had manual seats for over 15 years until now.
I was actually surprised at fine adjustments I was able to make except for the thigh support extension (which is also manually adjusted on power seats).
My previous car was 128i with power sport seats and I don't feel that I've given much on being able to make fine seat adjustments.
The only real advantages of having power seats are the seat and side mirror memory settings and ease of making seat position adjustments.
I also really like the ability to quickly move front seat foward for rear seat access with the manual seats.

Lumbar adjustment is a huge advantage.

I missed that one and it will an advantage for those who need it.
I never use it so that is why I forgot about it.
However I thought lumbar support only comes with premium package and it is not included with stand alone power seat option.

You may be right about that, but for those of us who need it it's worth pretty much whatever it costs. I'm driving pain free for the first time in years because of it.

Agree....I had to do a 6 hour drive and when done, I was astounded at how good I felt getting out of the sport seats! I have to stick a pillow behind me in my wife Mercedes and even then get out not feeling anywhere near as well.
