Makes sense in LA. I never hit traffic in AZ.

You need to have your car coded to activate S/S memory and don't have to disable it at each car start.

I've done it on my car.

OP, since the car has an electric water pump it shouldn't be a problem. The computer can leave the water pump on even if the engine has been shutdown.

Same here on a 2015 228i

I've got a M235i in manual, and I actually love S/S with the manual. I've driven autos with it, and it can be a pain at stop signs. With the manual though, I can keep the clutch in to keep the S/S from turning off the engine. Happy to save a little gas when I'm properly stopped without having the engine stop at momentary stops.s

I have a 2014 228i purchased last June. The car defaults to Comfort mode. Once you turn of the ASS button in Comfortt mode it will atay off in all modes except eco pro by default the next time you start the car. If they changed that in 2015 models that was a dumb move. It trully is an awful feature as it turns off inconsistantly due to climate control.

If you have been driving the car hard, then yes cooling down is always suggested but as mentioned auto-stop start is permanently disabled with 1 button press and the car will sort out when to automatically enable/disable ASS.
This is correct. For more answers about modern BMW oiling and cooling, see Tech Q&A in Bimmer magazine #129 under"Arctic oil in M"? The statement by Julian Arguelles,BMW Product and Technology Spokesperson,is the official word on how modern BMW turbo engines are cooled and oiled.
