LSD for m235i 6MT
Here is my problem,
I went to my dealer (in France) and asked about the price of the LSD, he checked and couldnt find it for a 6MT. It exists for the ZF8 but not for my 6MT. If anyone has it outside europe ('cause i suppose it's not available in europe if not in France), could you give me the Serial Number. Thanks |

I'm in France (Brittany) and I'm currently negociating M Performance LSD price here.
Send me a PM for more infos On the ETK, only ZF8 cars seems to be able to receive the LSD. It's quite strange because 6MT and ZF8 have the same open differential with 3.08:1 ratio so there should not be a problem... I think that there si a mistake in the ETK. M Performance LSD reference is 33 10 7 555 610 See ETK here Last edited by quenotte; 03-03-2015 at 03:35 AM.. |

I know that, but they asked bmw France and nothing. They asked directly to Germany and are waiting for an answer.
Kind of worried about it, seeing that some of the 2addicts from the US have it even on the 6MT . |

it should be noted that Chris Harris's M235i was obviously manual and had LSD.
As for price i have mentioned this in another thread but i paid about $3,500 CAD installed ( this was before the CAD tanked so don't try and play some exchange games about how you can get it for cheap, its not cheap), i would have to find my invoice for the exact price. I believe part was 2,800 alone. |

I dropped my car off on Monday to get my LSD installed and I still don't have it back yet. They got the thing in the first day, but apparently there was some service bulletin about it saying it required some special grease that they didn't have and had to order it and it came in today. Apparently its to stop a clicking sound that I had heard someone on here complain about. I think they need to pull the axles and pack it in where the splines/bearings are. I'll try and drive it tomorrow if I can before it gets cold and snows again (wtf?).

I thought you had to order the LSD as an option during order phase?

You can buy it whenever you want from BMW M Performance. It's just easier to do it when you order the car. To me, the LSD is more important than any other option or accessory. I'll get the "easy" stuff -spoilers, splitter, exhaust etc-later.

Got the car back and although I haven't really driven it more than about 10 miles nor pushed it, it definitely has better traction off the line and accelerating through a corner. I will go for a nicer drive in a little bit and report back with more of an opinion before it snows tomorrow.
Oh and no clicking |

Yea you can definitely hear it working when there is a bit of gravel on the road. Rocks go everywhere.
Sorry to anyone behind me =/ |

Yes! It was installed last Tuesday. I didn't drive a lot and differential is breaking in.
Initial feels are: - car seems more stable and predictable. - better traction when accelerating from stop and especially on corners. No clicking sound... |
