This car looks amazing!! I love the dimensions of this car, the exact reason I got e90 335 over f30, they're just too long IMHO.

12/12 vs 12/20 pricing guide differences

What are the differences between the 12/12 and 12/20 pricing guides, based mine off the 12/12 guide, help appreciated, my specs are, let me know if afftected
  • M235i
  • mineral gray
  • black leather
  • zda drivers assistance pkg (pdc, rear camera)
  • zpp Premium in addition to std leather UGDO, Comfort acccess, auto diming mirrors, 1-year sat radio, lumbar (which I think is standard)
  • ztp technology package
Anything in my order change, cant find the 12/20 order guide in full or not yet

Found additional info, only change was 228 m sport brakes are optional? Still standard on M235i, is that change and is that correct?

Is this F15 style in the door trim or something else? I haven't seen any videos and photos of this either.

Can anybody shed any light on the subject? (Yes, please do pardon the pun).

Edit: Found it, never mind.

so does this mean that we will be able to change the color of those interior lights (assuming it means the accent lighting in the door handles and such)

You will have a choice between "Classic" (orange) and "Sport" (white).

Anyone seen the new mini??

You can build it now on Mini USA.

Such a shame BMW charges SO MUCH for more options.

Dynamic Damper Control - 500
LED Headlights, Rain Sensor, White turn signals - 1,250
Leather/Cloth seats - 750
You can also get HUD!

:<

I wish BMW let us pick more individual options. Sad a 25k car has more options : <

The orange S looks pretty hot. Had a 2010 Clubman S we traded for our X1.

M Sport suspension

Confused... when building the car on the main BMW page, selecting the 228i with the Sport Package states the M Sport suspension is included at no charge yet the data sheets above state it is an additional option. Who is right?

Also... has anyone seen (in person or in pictures) the difference between the standard 228i headlights and the optional xenon package option. Big difference?

Great news today as I found out she has started production! Caveat being even if completed I won't be able to take delivery until BMW releases them on their date of choosing (rumored March) I told him to rename mine a "demo" ;-)

I didn't know this, but part of the increase in weight might be because the US wants knee airbags on cars.

I noticed in the specification that the 2 series has Knee airbags for driver and front passenger.

The new Mini has knee airbags as well, which adds to part of the increased weight over the previous mini.

Nice tech specs. Any idea if this car has an oil temp gauge anywhere? Like in the iDrive system?

Just realized the M235 has narrower wheels than a F30 M Sport (7.5" & 8" instead of 8" & 8.5").

Thanks for posting this.

I wonder why the manual 228i 0-60 estimate (6.2/s) is so much greater than the 8-speed auto (5.4/s). Can we blame the gear ratios for this disparity? Perhaps it is a typo...

According to the curb weight listed in the specs the manual equipped 228i is actually 40 lbs lighter than the auto. It's also 245 lbs lighter overall than the equivalent M235i. Which I didn't realize until now.

Beats me, I like the ratios of the manual 228i. And assuming the carrier is the same, it would accept the lsd as well. I've been saying all along the 228i, M sport (why not m228i by the way) would be the hot ticket. Its got a short rear end ratio, and tranny ratios similar to a gm 6 speed manual. Same foes got the 328i m sport. Lighter front end, pointy front grip. That n20 is clearly under rated going by acceleration times. I really think the new 228i m sport can be more closely compared to an e36 m3, only much quicker. With a suspension that is geared towards stiffness and handling (Like the e36 m3) rather than comfort, I really expect the 2er to be a talented car. The only thing that concerns me is that the wheel base and width grew in similar ratios, as compared to overall length. I don't know what implications that has for front end grip and civilized behavior, compared to what many 135i owners felt in terms of under steer and nervous performance. (Not a dig at the 1er, with a couple easy changes, it is truly a performer).

Look at the highway mpg on the m235i, auto compared to stick... why they use such a short od in 6th gear in the stick is beyond me. Follow GMs lead and give the stick an opportunity to get better highway mpg by using a taller od. No reason for 6th to be at least .67 instead of .85.
