Love the look ! The steering and grip feels much better than my oem 19 inch staggered setup.

I've found that plastic centre caps melt from brake heat migrating through the hub into the wheel centres during track days, one additional check before taking the car out is to remove them. On my Caterham the rear wheel hubs are particularly prone to melting the centre cap tangs before they fly off, causing them to become track debris and potentially being given a black flag.

The first time one came off a car of mine, a track worker saw it, retrieved it, and brought it over to me saying "We just assume all you guys know to take them off for the track." Of course, he was thinking in terms of their having to clean junk off of the track.

Hey, I was researching a 245 square setup and came across this thread. Happy it works out! Do/can you use any spacers in the rear to make the tires flush with the fender? I think people use 10-20mm on stock rear wheels, but I've never messed with it.

I've never messed with spacers either. It looks pretty flush to me just right out of the box. But the setup works great!

Would a 255 square setup be possible?

Definitely possible, I've seen it in person and seems like other guys on the forum run it without a problem. But I think you need some additional camber, and probably a wider wheel than 8 inches to pull it off and get the clearance you need.

Considering this setup: 245/40 r18 ET40 With the C4 TRMotorsports. Mostly because I track so infrequently and want them as full summer setup and the wheel gap with 17” looks a little too large for my preference. Does anyone know if the 18” vs 17” present fitment issues? Edit: on stock suspension *

255 is definitely doable. You just need at least 2.3* of negative camber. Yes, I stuffed a 255/40R17 RE71R on it.
The car is now on KW clubsport, and has 3.3* of camber, and I have a set of NT03RR 18x9 ET45 with 17.5mm spacer with Hankook RS4 in 255/35R18 on it. It fits. |

I now have an M2 since 2018, things are a bit more expensive but we can run up to 265F and 295-305 rear, grip is insane..
