I'm really hoping for azurite black but I know that's not going to happen, keeping that in mind I think the palette is going to be similar to the one of the X6/X5M which that works perfect for me because I love carbon black, Donington grey is always an option too. I wouldn't get it but I would love to see a dark green

Anyone considered the possibility that the "cool white" colour recently seen on the OLED M4 may make an appearance?

Well...if there's enough passionate requests on the forums, maybe they'd consider limited runs of bespoke colours. I recall a 1m being factory painted in a special colour, last one off the line I think, in something resembling Java Green??

Anyways, another idea might be to offer the group ED participants (Canada and U.S. have them, don't know about the ROW) a couple or so "limited" colours to choose from in order to celebrate the event.

Another generic idea open to all first takers might be a limited run of 1st Edition cars that are offered with a couple or so of one time, one production run colours that also represent the celebration of BMW's 100th anniversary. A choice of Frozen Brilliant White or a Frozen Blue (Estoril, Monte Carlo...whatever matches the brand blue) would be.....orgasmic!! Maybe offer regular gloss coat versions for those intimidated by the Frozen paint?

Oh man, I would kill for "Frozen" options if any of my fantasies above come true. I'm wondering how they'll produce the M2's at Leipzig, ie will they be built in blocks where all of the cars on the line on designated dates are M2's or will they be mainstream and fit in anywhere on the line with the RP 2ers? Reason I ask has to do with paint capabilities. Can special runs be given special colours? Hopefully someone can answer this, I've not been to Regensburg where M3's are made and Munich wasn't making the M4 when I was there so I have no clue lol.

Otherwise you've all got Donington and some vibrant red & blue options covered so I'll move on to the interior where I pray they offer a Merino leather option and/or add a rust-coloured leather to the palette. My worst fear is that they cheap out on interior trim options ala the 1M which looked no different really than an ordinary 135 back then - exception being the deviated stitching (love this) and the Alcantera which IMHO is a horrid idea for dash trim.

And there's lots more to wish for but I'll take a breather for now.
I toured the Regensburg plant back in June of 2005 when I was in Germany. At that time all of the E46 M3 production was done at that plant. The production line is just randomly mixed with the different models they produce at the plant. At that time they also produced the 3 series coupe and sedan at the plant. So when we viewed the production line there would be various 3 series models and the odd M3 mixed in with them. There was no long continuous run of just M3 models on the production line.

I'd hope for some brighter colours in the M2 choices. That orangey yellow (not AY) from soneones render months back looked great to me.

DSB is nice... I'd seriously like to see Carbon Black on the M2.

That's about as dark as you can get with a blue hue.

Long Beach Blue is enough to make me happy (based on the pics at this point) but more blue options would definitely be even better.

Completely agreed. That might as well be an Individual color for me, I love it. Now if only manual cloth seats would be an option, that would be perfect.

Wonder if they'd allow VO on the M2. My real hope is for Techno Violet but that's never going to happen

Leipzig Plant and Individual Not

It has been confirmed that Leipzig, where my 135i M Sport was built and hopefully, my M2 will be built, is not equipped to handle Individual. My understanding is the Leipzig plant may have recently brought online its fourth production line. So where are those Individual Frozen Yellow i8s being manufactured? I thought i8s were manufactured in Leipzig.

That i8 was a vinyl wrap...

If this is true, than I think BMW has missed the mark. A lot of people will want to have some sort of individual colour on this car I reckon

Completely disagree with you. Yes, of course there will be a bunch of guys that will miss this, but Individual paint is hardly what I'd call cheap (unless you go for the black and silver ones... which in the end of the day are still just that).

Sure you see some nice Individual M3/4, but really not that many.

This color was applied aftermarket. It's not a factory color.

I will take a simple silver. SSII is just too blueish for me.

Not true anymore. A limited but "better than we've ever had before" palette of Individual colours are available on quite a few BMW's in Canada and are only $2k CDN. Subtract the $895 CDN pricing for regular metallic paint here and it's only $1100.00. This includes some of the Frozen colours. I'd bite, no question, if Moses was able to part some of the paint booths in Leipzig to make this happen.

Those colors aren't too bad when it comes to price, but nothing better than what is normally offered IMHO. You have 2 shades of a dark-ish blue/black, a brown, and a type of silver. I can understand why people would want those colors of course.

Personally, I'd be more interested in the leathers that are offered on the M3/4 (although I'd actually prefer cloth). Merino Gold Brown would look fantastic on Long Beach Blue

I've never seen Frozen colors being under $2k USD though, nor do I see that happening any time soon. Like I said, if you look at the M3/4, Individual paint, even the cheaper ones are still pretty decently rare. So it's not like everyone is jumping at the opportunity IMO.
