Here's an M3 in Aug/2013 where the camo first started to appear on the hood. Hoods were not bulged on the earlier prototypes I believe. The car was intro'd in Detroit 5 months later. http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=882111

While I don't think its a huge deal, I agree with a buddy of mine that commented that a lack of the bulge might be a mistake for the M2. His reasoning, and I agree, is that M cars have all shared a few core-type things in the last 10 or so years, and along with the fender flares, quad exhausts, LSD, better suspension, CF roof, there has also been a good bulge present on the M cars. Compared to the CF roof - which also seems to be a no go - making the hood unique with a bulge seems even easier to me. I wonder why it doesn't appear to be part of the plan.

I have a very slight feeling of disappointment with those latest pics, it doesn't come across as all that "wide".. The arches are very smooth,
Obviously still exciting but it looks a bit, normal at the moment. |

Damn that ass is crazy!
That is looking plenty wide enough my word! That rear diffuser looks the business as well as the blending on the panels. Quad tails look perfect, quite like the exhaust tips being blacked-out like the BMW Performance slip-ons for the M3/M4. This car just keeps getting me more and more excited! |

With the stock hood and N55, there's really no need for a power dome, unless it was purely a design element. I just hope we get the CF strut brace though: Black cars will do that for you, especially when they have really narrow winter tires. Go look at the red test car again, with the same panels and tell me that doesn't look wide as hell. Black would definitely be my last color choice personally.

That's my final answer Regis! But I'm seriously giving myself a headache dreaming without the option of individual. I hope that changes.

I am at an absolute loss.
I would love Dakar yellow or Imola Red if we going to do old school colours. As for the Power Dome, I think that is reserved for the 3/4 as none of the other in the series have ever had it, although I would love to be looking at that while driving. Absolutely love that menacing look it gives |

this has to be the ugliest hood on the market. I absolutely hate it! The body lines look very soft. I was really hoping for a sharper design. I guess we'll see pretty soon what bean counters did here. This is the result of rushing the car to the market. Somebody is making very poor decisions regarding design philosophy. |

I hope that BMW leans more M3 than M4 on this car when it comes to the fender flares - the M3 just looks so much more menacing to me. In terms of the hood, I know what W/// is saying, but I guess I am surprised there's not SOME visual difference there. I know the bulge was functional in the E9X, but I don't know that it is in the F80/82? The boot lid/spoiler should also have something different that's subtle...

I am surprised no one talked about this new line.

I was wondering if that was there because the fenders aren't yet production spec?
It almost looks like it was bent or something.
