Anyone tell me their thoughts on this? 2014 228i for $36k
Thinking about picking this car up. It's a 2014, "new" with only 200 miles on it. Has the M sport package, driver assistance, silver metallic exterior, lighting package, premium sound, cold weather package, M sport brakes, sport seats, brushed aluminum trip.
It's from a dealer and they're asking $36k. It's also the first time I'm buying a car from a dealer and of course my first 2 series purchase. Really like this car. I realize it's one model year old, but for all those options it does seem like a good buy. Am I wrong? Edit: This is my first post and really appreciate the help! I'll contribute more once I can Last edited by arun21; 12-31-2014 at 12:23 AM.. |

Is that 36k out the door?
Had the car ever been titled ? I'm a little underwhelmed by the offer? Do a 2015 w/track pkg and get the color you really want |

That's a decent deal imo, but you're getting it because it has 200 miles of test driving on it. If you're okay with that go for it. I'm sure the car will be fine. Just look for scrapes and scratches. You might be able to work the price down tad more using that angle.
And a 2015 with track pack is the exact same car as this. Minus the grey wheels. |

Saving 4k and not waiting seems worth it to me. I hear the wait times are pretty long. And thankfully the 14 and 15 are for all intents and purposes identical. They just changed some of the possible option pricing. Again you're getting a 2014 track pack (minus grey wheels). If anyone thinks there's a difference performance wise they are mistaken and delusional.

Sounds like some end of the year savings. I know my dealer has many vehicles marked down. Plus it sounds like it was a demo car. They usually take several thousand off for being a demo/test drive vehicle.
My brother bought a one year old model 335xi and got it for close to $10k off MSRP because it was a demo/test drive vehicle at the dealer. The deal was a steal and couldn't be passed up. It served him well before he needed to change models and get something a little bigger to accommodate his irish wolfhound. Last edited by jbenington86; 12-31-2014 at 11:04 AM.. |

He didn't say it had track package. Good deal though. Mine's a Msport without track package (wasn't offered when I bought mine) and I'm fine with it

A buddy of mine has the 228i with Msport wishes that he had gotten the Msport brakes. The track package wasn't available at the time. So you coukd order a 2015 with track package or go with this one since it has the Msport package and the Msport brakes. Either way I recommend getting the upgraded brakes with the car.

Is it worth getting the CPO warranty? Apparently the car is 3 miles away from CPO. I would have to pay an addtl $1500 but I'd get 100,000 mile warranty added to the car. Very beneficial for resale? Or only marginal?

Is it BMW CPO ?
6year/100k which ever comes first / that for cars sold with at least 15k miles. But it seems your car falls into the Elite plan 1year/25k miles http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...eoverride=true Last edited by overcoil; 12-31-2014 at 02:28 PM.. |

If the vehicle is 3 miles away from CPO tell them you want to test drive again before you buy but yeah I would purse that if this is the case that CPO warranty can be huge in the long run.
