I was really lucky. It was an in ground pipe that came up after a road scraping. It dented my cat - opposite the oxygen sensor, put a long, but structurally benign gouge in the frame rail and a major bend on the trailing link. I replaced the link for $68. I kept mulling over what was missed: the undertray, the oil pan, the brake lines, the fuel tank, ABS lines and the rear bumper cover. I'm a little paranoid about stuff on the road these days as well.

Sounds horrible but I'm glad the damage wasn't too extensive!!

Hey Iceman! I am just wondering why you chose the tuningwerk exhaust over the remus. Were you dissatisfied with the remus? Or did you just decide to change it up a bit

A little bit of both. The Remus did sound good but not aggressive enough for me. After everything that happened I just saw it as a good opportunity to try the Tuningwerk. Hopefully I'll be able to get it soon.

Just saw this thread. Your car has a gloss black roof!!! I'm looking at getting this done, but am worried the sunroof's darkness would look different/weird with the gloss black wrap. Opinion?

Interesting but I've never thought it looked out of place. Just my opinion but I think it blends quite well and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. It's definitely one of my favorite mods on this car! Haven't seen a lot of 2ers out there with this. I say go for it, you won't regret it.

Yea I love the look of it! Was going to get it done until my tinter said the antenna is really hard to do and get it perfect. You have any photos from up top?

My mate has a m135i and he is getting it done might see how that goes first

I'll take some pics for you tomorrow. The antenna is tricky but not impossible. Good idea and wait to see how your friend's m135i turns out first.

Just want to let you know, I'm considering leasing an M235i and this picture convinced me to go for the Melbourne Red.

Wish I'd had seen this before. Would make my mineral white choice much much harder.

Few questions about your new 235:

-Did you have the side mirrors painted gloss black? Or is that a dealer option aside from the performance CF mirrors?

-I see your M Performance Front Splitter is (matte?) black. Does it come like that standard, and if not then what was your route to get it this way.

-also, where did you source the Painted reflectors for the bumper? Did you find that the paint matches well in person?

-I actually painted them myself. They didn't look perfect up close so I swapped them out for a carbon fiber set since taking that pic. I think I've heard people on here saying you can get the dealer to paint them but I'm honestly not sure. You could also get some from the 3 series as those come in gloss black.

-Yes the splitter comes matte black standard.

-Got them from IND. Yes the paint matches perfectly in person. I've seen other BMW's with reflectors from IND as well and the paint looks great in person!

Usually not a fan of red cars, but I have to say the M235i looks great in red! Yours looks especially good with the black accents. Very nicely done!

Oh wow, just read about the piece of metal you ran over! That's crazy! Glad to hear that everything worked out.

Oh, and the more I look at your pictures, the more I love the M235i in red. Never thought I'd say this but I kinda wish mine was red lol!

Thank you very much! And yes I was incredibly fortunate to have everything work out so well.

Everyone seems to love the black accents! I'm constantly getting compliments from strangers or people just stare at me as I drive by. lol Wheels are next.......gunmetal/black. Not sure yet.

Thanks again guys for the kind words!
