Not worried about the suspension holding up, BMWs always do. More about the closing the gap in the wheel arches a bit. Either by Dinans or HRs, not 100% sure on which one yet.

Let me know which one you go for. I like HR, but I've seen the drop and it seems a little too much in the front.

But for the rear, the calc tells me that my setup would be 3mm less "pokey" than yours is. What is your camber setting on the back? I'm at -1.65 right now, and I'm due in for my camber plates on Monday, so I can ask them to adjust the back, if necessary. Thanks! |

Your calculator is dead-on (3.35mm to be exact ), but my wheels and tires stick out more than 3mm, so I think you'd still have some rear poke. Of course this all comes down to taste, and my opinion is only that. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out in any case! |

Since this is my track setup it's not on the car right now... I can accommodate the request February 7th .
Here are some more pictures, though probably not as helpful as you'd hoped. |

Last picture is super helpful -- needed a front(ish) profile shot to see what the "poke" looked like. It's definitely not bad -- just looks aggressive, not stancenation. Thank you!

Only three things are required to enjoy this car at a very high level on track: track tires, track brake fluid and track pads.
Once you can manage to keep your lap times within the same second, only then is it time to consider mods. Spending time and money on learning to drive, is a much better investment towards improving your lap times than mods. |

I'm subscribing to this thread. Very interested in seeing what others do for the track. So far I have changed my brake fluid to Torque RT700, changed brake lines to steel, switched to Pagid RSL1 pads and Stoptech slotted rotors. I have KW DDC Coil Overs and Ground Control Camber kit about to be installed.

Love it. Now. It took some getting used to. It grabs very quickly. I was constantly braking too early until I got used to them. Down points are they are very noisy, but on the track who cares. I switch back to stock for regular driving. Overall I feel my braking ability is much greater than stock. When I graduate from the stock Michelin Pilot Super Sports to a real track tire I expect significant improvement again.

My car is an M135i so pretty similar.
Here is what I have done: Quaife LSD. TCKline racing coilovers w/ camber plates Racing dynamics sway bars Endless RF650 brake fluid SS brake lines Endless MX72 pads Nangkang NS2-r soft compound tires 255/40/17 square Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 17x8 40offset Wagner competition intercooler Downpipe w/ 200cel sportcat ER Chargepipe BMS Intake Racing dynamics R35s tuning The car is now an absolute blast to drive on the track which I do every weekend for 8 months of the year. The Quaife (or any LSD) is a must do. The TCKR coilovers coupled with the sway bars may be a bit much for a daily driven car, but works great for me. The TCKR camber plates are brilliant. Not sure how happy I am with the Endless pads. They do offer better pedal feel, and better initial bite , but they do fade eventually. Will try something different once I toast these. The NS2-r's while not the best tire out there offer repeatable lap times as they dont overheat like the stock PSS's. Will probably try Direzza 03G's next, as I love my ZII's which I use for the street. Next up is a P3 gauge as entering the secret menu every time is a real pain. |

Ground Control camber plates (install today) APEX ARC-8 18x8.5 ET 38 in Hyper Black x 4; Direzza II 255/35 x 4 Challenge Stainless Lines ATE 200 fluid (already have in) Porterfield R4-S pads (and just for fun) M-Performance Exhaust (great deal on ebay today). Thing is, I live in LA in an apartment, so I don't have a garage to switch stuff out, so I kind of have to compromise. Hence no dedicated track tires or pads. Both seem do do pretty well so far (have Direzza's on right now, but staggered, and the stock M235i pads are actually pretty damn good). Also, as I mentioned above, I have a P3 in and it is great. Totally worth the money. Everything should be installed before the end of the month, so should be pretty interesting... Future (next) upgrade will be the M-Perf LSD. the eLSD is actually very good, but I do want to upgrade eventually. |
