Oh they definitely won't add anything to that list. I expect it to get pared down quite substantially and then whatever is left ends up in package bins.

Its interesting that I feel like I am seeing more strippers on the M2 builds than we saw on the 1M builds. Many people didnt understand why Id want a bare bones 1M (dont regret it one bit) and I was considering a fully loaded M2 as a light duty DD.

Id get 6MT, comfort access, heated seats, HK, LED, plus anything thats a performance upgrade (M drivers package? not sure what that is).

If all of that is not available as a stand alone option then I may go full blown loaded 6MT since I will use this car more as a DD. I dont plan to mod it beyond intake/tune, maybe axle back exhaust. It always starts like this LOL

I'm thinking mineral grey. Sunroof delete and the obvious choices. Other than that, I want to keep it simple and cheap. I do wish we had a adjustable damper option. I liked the idea of throwing some swifts in there and running the middle setting. At least it will be nice and simple. I just wanted to avoid waiting for proper shock dynos and research.

Mineral gray, on the fence with options. Leaning towards DCT and manual seats (had more head room with manual seats in an e92). We'll all probably end up with stuff we really don't want due to packaging.

I am going for the automatic, M DKG Drivelogic. I will get a manual 1M next to it or a M3 CSL or something. As a daily driver I want the automatic.

Question about this sunroof delete. Is this something U.S. based? I have never seen it in one BMW folder or option list here in Europe.

If we do not want a sunroof, we just do not opt it in on our option list. For us there is no reason to delete a sunroof, we don't opt it in the first place.

Most of the stuff I choose isn't that heavy in the end. Some things are luxury and work well in Europe if you ever want to sell it on.

Some are a first for me. Comfort access and a navigation system are things I never had on a car I bought. Same goes for the automatic gearbox.

In the U.S. most car companies believe that we don't want to think for ourselves, so we get very few options as to not confuse us. Only a few packages are specced with "gotta have" titles, such as "Technology Package"..."Oh! I must have that because it's the only way to get 'technology', right?!"

Okay, not to rant. The 2er comes standard with a sunroof and they do give us an option to remove it for $0. Possibly the M2 will be the same for the U.S. - sunroof standard with an option to delete.

You might as well get it fully loaded since NAV and power seats will be standard in the US.

Did they with the 1M? What was the difference between a US and EU option list with regards to the 1M?

MR
Search the 1M forums.

Packages and option are different for Europe vs U.K vs U.S vs Canada vs South America.

This is how I'll option mine:

6MT
475 - Black Sapphire Metallic
674 - Harman Kardon Professional
403 - Glass Roof, Electrical
Technology Package (or whatever it takes to get the nav system)

M Performance non-electronic steering wheel
M Performance shift lever
M Performance parking brake lever
M Performance pedal covers

Some items in the former US market "Premium" package are standard on the base US M235i now. The leather seats are still extra-cost, but the universal garage door opener, comfort access, etc. are all rolled into the base car features. So maybe the M2 will also get those items as standard features. Who knows?

'00 Honda S2000 (Silverstone Metallic, black leather, factory titanium shift knob + front lip + trunk spoiler, front shock tower brace, front subframe x-brace)
