235 Order Options - Special Requests

I was on the phone with a BMW Genius yesterday who quite frankly didn't provide a lot of information based on their title. I indicated that I was planning to build an M235, however I much prefer the interior options in the 228 (black leather with red trim, and red dash trim). I asked if its possible to build a 235 with 228 features. She indicated that she had heard that it was possible to do just that, but did not have much clarity on how to go about its implementation and suggested my dealer would. My dealer seems entirely uninterested in doing anything extra ordinary with my build and still insists I cannot get anything but run flats on my car.

Are there any dealers on this forum that have done special requests like I described above? Any direction that can be given on how to instruct my dealer to help me out with this?

Mucha appreciated!

I would like to know that as well. I have always been curious about such things. For example, a no-line 228i can be built with oyster sensatec as standard. I am wondering if it's possible to get that on an M 235i instead of the only option which would be black sensatec.

Add one more request please....I want a moon roof delete option for M235.

I was able to delete the moon roof on my current 328 coupe and BMW gave me a credit I used for leather interior.

As I understand it, Lepzig, where the 2's are built, isn't set up for individual options. It may be awhile, if ever for what you are looking for. Moonroof delete was not an option for me on my M235. Canada may be different.

In Canada, if you skip the Premium Pkg, and don't add the separate option for moonroof, the car should come without a moonroof.

In uk standard option is no sunroof (what you call moonroof) so it's doable. Reckon you could do it on ED

For us Yanks the ED cars have the same order specs and restrictions as the domestically delivered cars. So for now I'm told it can't be deleted.

Hi guys, yes the Leipzig plant can't accommodate "Individual" orders but what you all are asking for are "Special Order" items (in Canada this option is $400). Theoretically, if you get a good dealer ( try Golffer in the M3/4 forums, he's in Cali I think and well known & used by members) there are a few things you can do to the car as long as the changes aren't "one off" and not available on any other 2er. For example, if you absolutely couldn't fit into a black Dakota leather sport seat, a "special order" could be submitted to have the non sport Dakota leather seats installed. All special orders have to be approved by BMW after your dealer sends in the request. Here, this is all handled by BMW Canada. If you guys in the U.S. have the same option then your dealer will make the request via BMW N.America.

Good luck and be patient 'cause a lot of dealers consider this kind of stuff a PITA.

Thank you very much for clarifying that!

I talked to my Salesman about getting an M235i in Valencia (or, pipe dream, Sakhir) Orange and though he was a little shady he indicated it was doable

You're welcome. Let us know how you make out with your Sp. Order request. You'll get a flat "no" for Sakhir but I don't see why Valencia couldn't be approved. Fingers crossed for 'ya!!

Did this order with Valencia or Sakhir actually go through? Likewise, I think the Sakhir is gorgeous. I love blue, but EB is a little lighter than I usually prefer.
